Feeding Question

Hercules is 7 and a half months old. I currently feed him twice a day, once in the morning, and once a couple hours before bedtime.

Should I start thinking about decreasing his meals to once a day? If so, when would people recommend doing that.

Of course, I will consult my vet before manking any changes, but I am curious what others do.

we feed twice a day and have no plans of going to feeding once a day.

if you own a breed that is prone to bloating, i think it is recommended to feed more than once a day.

I feed puppies up to 6 months 3 times a day. After six months, twice a day. I never decrease to once a day, but that is just my preference.

I also never decrease to once a day, I don't believe that it's good. Just my opinion[

Axl and Pepito get 2 meals a day, and Ogre gets 3 or 4. Akitas are prone to bloat and that terrifies me, so I do my best to only feed him a little bit at a time over the course of the day.

I feed twice a day, with a little "midnight snack" sometimes before bed. Conrad is prone to vomit bile if his tummy gets too empty, so especially if I'm planning on sleeping in the next day I try to make sure he goes to bed with something in his belly. I've been told that that problem isn't that uncommon, so that's another good reason for two or more feedings a day for adult dogs.

my dog is a grazer, i fill his bowl up in the morning and he eats at his leisure, some days he eats it all by the end of the night,. some he doesnt. this generally is not recommended, and is not necassary if your dog will eat a proper portion at one time.

i would not think its a good idea to limit to one feeding. the dog could get ravenous by feeding time the next day and scarf its food, which could result in bloating and that can be very serious.

My pup is 8 months old and im still feeding him 3 x day. I have just started decreasing his lunch meal to more of a snack size(1/2 cup).
I will go to 2 x day but that's it. I don't want to feed only once a day.

I'd only feed once a day if you were talking about raw.
I feed raw, but I STILL feed twice a day because Ella will vomit from empty stomach if I don't.
