Some people just don't know........ and new pics!

There are just so many breeds that can have brindle colouring, I think that it's pretty much irrelevant. Hounds, boxers, bully breeds, mastiffs, heck greyhounds too!

I don't see pit resemblance personally.

i have seen tons of brindle boxers, but never a brindle pitbull [&:]

Many, many purebred APBTs are brindle.  I have a book called "The Working Pit Bull" and each of the author's 4 APBTs are some sort of brindle.

NicoleS--here is a pic of that shows her brindling Sally (I'm a bad picture updater)...

You can REALLY see a difference in the heads though--

Oh She's BEAUTIFUL!!  I LOVE her coloring!  You are right about the heads being so different - I love Sammy's long floppy ears, but Sally's ears are quite cute themselves!  [:)]

The shot of her laying down..... Sammy does look like that if he lays that way as well, but maybe its the tail and brindle that make me think that.

    She's a CUTIE!

Thank you--I'll pass that along to her--lol!  Sally actually does the "boxing" thing too when she plays....

    ETA--I love Sammy's Dogster page!

my first inclination was boxer/plott hound.  Whatever the case...a LOVELY dog!

Thank you!  I will give Sammy extra scrittches and treats tonight from everyone and read him all the comments!

Wow, two votes for plott hound, and up until today I had never heard of such a creature!  I will definitely be adding that to my data bank in my head :)

I don't see any pit in him at all.  His head shape, ears, body type, etc don't seem APBT to me at all.

Tons of APBTs are brindle though, but coat color does not equal breed.

The snout of Sammy is longer and thinner than Tyson's (APBT):

You can really see the jowl structure and the indentations under their cheekbones (only way I can really describe it) in APBTs, which I don't see in Sammy:

Also, this is a beagle pit mix (my friend's dog) and you can see that the pit head really comes through though its a hound mix:

Tyson is adorable!  I'm really glad I started the post, if only to get other people to post such great pictures of their dogs!    The second one is really terrific, looks like he is looking right at me! :)
