Congratulations! You have been visited by the dog fairy! He is a handsom boy! Thank you for taking him in and giving him a nice place to sleep. He probably hasnt had that in a while.
I now believe in the dog fairy. nyiceprincess, you got it right!
Well, NewDog is doing just great here. My rescue organization accepted him in the foster care program and NewDog was fully vetted on Wednesday including being microchipped. He has another vet appointment this Friday to fix an eye entropian condition. The organization did require me to contact AC and shelters in my area and get NewDog on Found lists.
NewDog has had quite an impact on the behavior of the pack. Now the pack is 3 males and 2 females. The boys are now more maler. All the boys now lift their legs. It is so funny to watch Petro, a GD lift his leg and try to balance himself. The boys only play with each other and there is a new intensity of play, no aggression. Marvin wants to dominant the other males but NewDog won't be dominated and he will not dominate. So the only thing left is play. Marvin is a SA dog and his relationship with NewDog is best of buddies. The energy released out of Marvin has definitely impacted his stay in the kennel while I am at work. His kennel is kept in good order and there is no sign of pacing, pooping, and inappropriate chewing.
NewDog went to his first foster dog showing at Petco. He was great with other dogs, friendly to people and kids. One other foster dog bit NewDog on the lip causing it to bleed. NewDog just backed away. He has a few more situations to be exposed to before I can do his profile and list him on Petfinders. The one thing I have to work on is NewDog gets ways too excited when I return home from my day. He is getting way too attached to me and I need to expose him to other people for longer periods of time.
