    Dog Wash

Today, driving through a nearby town to go to DW's bank, we passed a coin-op car wash. This guy was finished washing his truck and proceeded to rinse off his old Golden, who appeared to like it just fine. He stood there patiently. We didn't have time to stay and see if he sprinkled water everywhere in shaking it off.

Ron, do you mean he had the dog standing in the automatic car wash at the rinse cycle? I really don't think I am crazy about that but I trust you that you know dogs and were able to tell if he liked or not, so if he did then thats cool. I don't think it's a good idea for a pap though the could blow into the next town.

Haha...there actually is a dog wash in a town nearby where I live.  I've never actually been in it...but i expect it is somewhat like a car wash.  Its a funny idea.

There's a dog wash that attached to a car wash near me.  It's a separate room, actually 3 rooms.  You use tokens like @ the car wash & you have different choices of soap & "washes".  There is a stainless steel ramp that leads to a platform where you wash your dog.  Then you can dry your dog to some degree.  That mostly just gets the major water off your dog.  I've used it for Grady a few times.  It's nice for a quick wash when I can't wash him outside.

That is so cool, if there was an automatic dog wash place around me I would take Giz there, I would prefer to use my own soap but it's a great idea. I can't stand how the fur clogs my home drain so easy even with the metal screan. Eventuly I want to buy a dog wash tub for her and my future pup but for now she gets a nice warm bath in the giant utility sink in the laundry room.

I would LOVE one of those! Shaq is so big that when he is in the bathtub water just pours off his back onto the floor and Marley is not much better. For the last couple of years we have been washing them in the boys locker room showers. We wear swimsuits, and stick a hose attachment to the shower. It works well, but we have to mop everything down when we are finished, and DH and I are always a mess, covered with suds and wet dog hair.[:'(]

I would love something like that around my area to wash my dog off. It's so hard to get Blue wet down he repells the water and it takes me a half hour to just give him two baths at home in the tub. If we had automatic dog wash it would be so nice and I wouldn't clog the drain and it would be so nice to have him up off the floor then the stupid tub on the floor.

the car wash by my complex, has a wash n go for your dog as well.  I tried it with Romeo, er, lets just say that it was me who took the wash. [8D]

No, it's not the automatic wash. It's the kind where you get out, feed coins into a control box and select soap or rinse and you use the wand to wash your vehicle. He was using the wand on rinse to wash his dog.

I take the Golden Retriever/Chow to a dog wash. Love it. She's very furry and not having to bend over is terrific. The other two can be washed in five minutes on the back patio so no problem, but she's a bit of effort.
