The Pit Bull Battle

When you think pit bull what do you think?
Big, teeth showing, spiked collar, no neck, dangerous, vicous, and many other horrible things.
You think of this correct?

Well that is far from what my girl is, as well as what the UKC standard is. How many of you know that the UKC stnadard is not supposed to exceed 65lbs yet the guy you see above is considerably bigger correct?
Well it has just been announced that the top 3 breeders of these type of overgrown pit bulls that give us all a bad name have actaully been breeding them with American Bullogs and Olde English Bulldogs to get this overgrown desired effect. These breeders are two of the biggest pit bull lines we have today, Gotti and Razors' Edge but not limited to just those
Coincidently these are the pit bulls that appeal to thugs and irresponsible owners. I am able to catagorize them as such because they go for looks and not the better fo the breed, if they cared about the breed they would not help fund or support these dogs.
So please, go here sign the petition to have their UKC papers revoked

I am sick and tired of getting backlash because of these breeders actions! Maybe this will help all the real responsible pit bull owners to get our good name back. Thirty years ago the APBT was in the top 10 nations favorite breeds, Hellen Keller owned pit bulls, and they were the first dogs of WW2 to receieve a her medal.
A ban on the American Pit Bull terrier? How American is that?

The breeders who have tainted our beloved pets reputation have attempted to make their own kennel club (cause they have ti answer to all those people who paid $800 and up something) and they are registering them under the breed name of American Bully. See that here

Thats fine with me, if they man up and call them something differnet fine, I still dont support them but at least they will eb exposed!

I signed this petition a while back, and I hope they pull the papers and titles out from under these mutts and their breeders. In my opinion, they ruin the good name that was once the APBT. I still remember back before I had a clue about the breed, a guy boarded his 6 75lb+ "pit bulls" with our shelter. He was a backyard breeder who had run out of room in his backyard. (I am not even kidding). I was talking to him and he managed to convince me that the 30-55 pound dogs are only that small because they are horribly inbred and insinuated that they were also liable to snap because of it. I have hit my head against the wall so many times for believing him. They either need to stop breeding these dogs or stop riding the APBT's coattails and set up their own breed. I wonder if the name American Bully (the new name for these mutts) is a hint towards the possibility that they have some American Bulldog in their bloodlines.

American Bully? I guess that's what they want these dogs to be.

Remember, the smaller the "equipment", the meaner the dog!

I cant stand Razor's edge and other breeders who breed pits to be 100 lb mutants. The rescue I volunteer with had a Razor's edge dog come into their program. Soon after she arrived, they realized she was going to have to have a $2000 surgery to fix her leg, which was causing her pain because she was bred to be so large. It's very sad.

I have heard Razor's edge has admitted their dogs were mixed with EBs and Bull Terriers. They breed for size, no care for temperment.

Their dogs dont even look like APBTs to me.

I gladly sign and will pass it on.
