Would you PAY to enter a dog park?

Well, here in Indy, there are two parks: 1 in a town like fifteen minutes away that charges $40 per year, and you need proof of shots etc.  Please don't flame me, but I only paid the intial $40 for one dog and let Charlie come sometimes, he is utd on shots, but don't want to have to pay $40 twice.  Also, there is a park at the Humane Society 5 minutes away-it was actually rated one of the top 10 dog parks, (I forgot from where), but of course stuiped me did not sign up there.  I think next year we will go to the Humane Society, even though it is $10 dollars more a year.  I like to know that the dogs are utd on their shots, because in Chicago, before we moved people could bring their dogs in anywhere and they may not be vaccinated and your dog could get sick.  Oh, and our park has key fobs to enter the park!

Umm... I might pay $25/YEAR. I mean, heck if all it is is a fenced off piece of land. There's no reason for it to be that expensive. I do wish we had fenced dog parks around here, though. There are three huge parks but none are fenced.

I would and I have!  There is something about free dog parks that I don't like.  I found that didn't exist in the private park.  You also had to show innoculation records before being admitted.  They had different types of plans, visitor was a pay as you go only available on the weekends, and monthly and yearly.  They also had different fenced off sections for different sizes/temperments and they were very large!

I would pay this if there was a means of excluding aggressive dogs.

I agree - I think membership does dissuade some of the less responsible owners.  If you have to pay and have to have a key - that way it's controlled and people actually have to go out of their way and put money up in order to have the opportunity to use the park.  I understand that some people will always be dog-stupid and not understand that their dogs are not good candidates for off-leash parks... but there would probably be less of them if there was a membership fee.

I too think 25$ is too high per month - but even so - I would probably pay it at least part of the year...

I'd pay in a heartbeat.  It would be great to go somewhere where I could be confident that someone elses dog would not attack my dog if he approached them to play.  At the park we go to now, I have to call Crusher back everytime I see another dog around until I can ask if the other dog is dog friendly.  Crusher loves other dogs of all sizes but has issues about meeting them on leash.  We are working on that but off leash is just sooo much easier.  My dogs have really good recalls so I've been lucky so far, but with the leash laws in this city its probably just a matter of time before someone reports me for letting them run in an empty park.  We go around 6 when no one else is around or after midnight when the only people around are a bunch of teens drinking on the playground equipment.  It would be nice to go during the day.

I would pay in a heartbeat........
I would want all shot records to be checked and tempermant testing done.
