Tina/Sharismom Today is the big day right?

    Bear comes home? How exciting!
Make sure to get pics for us and welcome home big boy...behave yourself lol!

Yep!!  I just called the shelter and he's back from his neutering.  I am picking him up after work.

I got his crate all set up, the big dish of water down, food at the ready, a can of pumpkin just in case, and a big squeaky toy.  I remembered to cover the back seat in the truck and have his new collar & leash with me.

I'm a little nervous, hoping that it's all going to work out and we're both happy.  Had a few fleeting crazy thoughts at 3:30 a.m. - OMG what am I doing?  Not enough sleep for several days in a row gears up the worry-wart in me.  I'm really okay with this decision - I haven't felt this happy in a long time.

Thanks for remembering, Gina.  And thanks to everyone for the good wishes in the other thread.  I'll post pics when I can.  Want to get a few "befores" when he comes home and some "afters" in a few weeks to compare.

I think I'm gonna love this dog!

Sounds like you are well prepared! Good luck!

[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] I'm so happy & excited for you!

Unfortunately, I have the same 'crazy thoughts' you mentioned in the wee hours of the morning... no sleep or lack of can drive you nuts!  I really feel like it's right since you mentioned not being this happy for a long time.  I think you are gonna be two peas in a pod!  [:D]  Can't wait to see the before and after pics... I did the same thing when we got Trixie and my oh my, what a difference a happy, loving home makes!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Missy!

I have low-grade chronic depression and it's been difficult for me to feel completely "up" since I lost Shari.  I love my cats, but they are not terribly motivating when I'm having a bad day.  The last thing I need when I'm down is to stay in bed and oh how those felines love to sleep!

Anytime, Tina.  I'll gladly be your cheerleader!  [:D

I never knew how depression could really get a hold on someone until I witnessed my FIL dealing with it and then began having issues with it myself.  Just having a happy moment stay for a little while was hard.  My Gracie sounds like your cats lol  Often, she's not aware if I'm having a bad day... not like FeFe was.

I believe Bear is gonna be just as good for you as you are for him!  Have a safe trip!
    • Gold Top Dog
Woot! Safe trip Tina. Can't wait to hear when you get back. ;)
    • Gold Top Dog
I can't wait to see pics of him not behind bars!
    • Gold Top Dog
YAY! Looking forward to the updates and seeing the new pix. Congrats.

Tina - I think I might be as excited as you about this, and yeah, I'd have probably agonized a bit over the decision too.  Heck, I agonize over a t-shirt at Target "do I really need it?"..."don't I have another like this?"....yeesh, it's awful sometimes.  Bear is gonna be an awesome new friend though and the cherry on top is that you're doing such a wonderful thing by bringing him into your life.  I can't wait for more pictures.

Squeeeeeel OMG!  Tina I forgot that today was the big day.  I'm soooooooooo excited for you.

I bet Bear will be a great pal!  Can't wait to see pictures and hear about his first day at his new home!

I'll have to go see the other thread.

I'm so happy for you and don't worry your doing a good thing. After tonight your probably not going to have any second thoughts on your decision. We want pictures.
