I am so sorry for your loss.I know these things happen every day but you never expect it to happen to you.Its so sad but you did everything right and noone is to blame.

I am so sorry to hear that. Motor was such a beautiful kitty.

Please don't feel bad. You did a wonderful thing by taking her in and loving her as much as you could during her short life. She will always be with you in your heart and will be waiting for you at the bridge. [sm=angel.gif]

Just yesterday we were admiring how beautiful she is. That's awful news.

I am so very sorry for your loss of Motor. You shouldn't second guess yourself, you had no idea what might happen. Besides, she had a warm, loving home... what every animal should have.

Sara - I'm so sorry to hear about Motor. She was beautiful and you were wonderful to bring her into your life. Don't question what you could've done to prevent this. Somethings are just not in our control. Hugs to you and your family.

p.s. while this may not be relevant, I had a kitty who passed away 3 days after having a dental cleaning. Now she was showing signs of trouble with not being able to shake off the anesthesia, but still it was quite a shock when she had a seizure 3 days later and passed away.

Oh, Sara, I'm truly sorry to hear about little Motor. How tragic that it had to happen so quickly. But as everyone else has already said, please don't feel guilty or second-guess your choice to bring this little girl into your life. You did everything you could to make the time she had left wonderful. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Im so sorry. Dont blame yourself (although I know how hard that is). If you had known, of course you would have done something! But, you didnt, we are only human unfortunately.

Thank you again everyone for your thoughts. I have been getting many op's experiences and that has been helping me get through this.

Sebastian is being very resilient and he doesn't entirely understand. He keeps asking when we are going to pick Motor up. Some people know that I am the mother of 4 boys ranging in age from 8 years to 2 years. Sebastian is 2 weeks shy of turning 5. I had to explain this to Alex and Hawke after school today and now Hawke has put the idea into Sebastian's head that we can go get a new Motor

I have no idea what to do about that.

Thank you everyone for the condolences. I am still saddened and trying to remind myself that we did nothing wrong and it was one of those GKW's (God knows why.).

You know, we lost a kitten once to a spider. She apparently swallowed it and it bit her in the back of the throat. Her throat swelled up and she suffocated sometime during the early hours of the morning.

Just thought a possible explanation might help.
