Hahaha! I have a friend who loves to remind me that I swore my limit was 2 and that I'd never have more than that.

[:D] That's what I said to my DH a few years ago. Something about not having more than two dogs. Then again I also promised to stop buying doggie stuff. [sm=biggrin.gif] I finally realized that if I didn't say anything he wouldn't have anything to hold me to later. *snorts* Oh, and raising puppy technically doesn't count, and dogs for selling later is grey area, so really you should only have to count the ones that will stay permanently. Yeah.

PS - agilebcs, when you have time I'd love to hear about Scotland (and see pics *nudge, nudge*)!

    Wow, that's shameless.

Oh yeah, forgot about Scotland.  I'll post about it.  It was a lot of fun!

I only have one *sigh* but I do have three hamsters, a tortoise, turtle, and rabbit. Plus a gazzilion fish.

We pet sat for a person with three, so then we had four in out house at one time. My dad hated it. I sorta like it, but it was a lot to make sure all were fed and gone out, especially sine I was pretty young at the time, but I think I would like to have a few more when I move out into my own house.

I just have the one, Cherokee... But my sister moved in a couple months ago with hers, so two live here, but they don't get along very well (aka Cherokee is quite mean to Jaz), so there's usually only one around at a time.

I would LOVE to have another of my own, but Cherokee is very picky about doggie friends, and though she got along with the first dog she lived with (she's only lived with that one and the current one), she much prefers to be the only dog. Plus I live in my Mom's rental house, which means I definitely can't get another dog til I move out, and probably won't til Cherokee passes (in 10 years or so, fingers crossed! lol, She's 8, and 60 pounds, but I can hope!) and/or I buy a house (yeah right around here, but again, I can hope!).

But, sigh, I just can't stop myself from looking at petfinder sometimes!

I have two.  I think I could probobly handle three, but the second one is only 16 weeks so I'll get back to you in a year or so on that one-lol

I currently have six, but have had up to 8 at a time(with fosters).  The current six really are great together, and it doesn't feel hard or unusual to me to have them all.
I don't offer up my doggie-resident number to non dog people unless they ask.  People look at me like I am nuts, or make an assumption that my house must be a mess with "all those dogs".
The truth is, they create a lot of cleaning, and most people I know don't have to vaccuum twice a day, but I wouldn't change a thing!
My dogs are part of my family and I love each and every one of them.
I am  thankful that I can come to a place like this where I don't get judged for having 6 dogs!

BTW: Furma...your dogs look absolutely gorgeous!

I have the two. I would love to get one more, but I am too anal. I get myself all worked up if everyone isn't thrilled to see each other all the time.
But my health is failing, so I know that it wouldn't be fair to any of them. I do all of their grooming myself which isn't really a biggy, when you feel well, but it's never ending when you don't. Oh heck I'm lying I would love to have 5, 6.... I just love them, and feel the more the merrier but that is not true for me or the dogs. The thing I am scared of is the last time these thoughts went through my head Trixie came over to visit for ohhh, well it's 3 yrs so far. hehe

I'm kinda like a school teacher LOL.  Four of my own, and could handle many more if I had the $$ for all the vet bills, food, and the estate to house them all. [8|]  But, I teach classes, so I get my doggy fix there, plus I have had up to 53 dogs in my play group at one time.  That was the record, usually it's closer to 20-25.

Right now I've got 2 dogs, but the puppy I'm raising isn't here permanently. I've had up to 4 dogs at once, 2 that I owned, one I was 'babysitting' for the winter, and then when I recieved the new puppy to raise, that made four dogs. It actually worked out pretty well, and wasn't too bad. I think 4 will probably be my limit, not that I have one, but as far as how many dogs I could handle. I can possibly see myself having three dogs at once, but that's about all. My dog Cassidy will be here of course. Then when Mirelle goes into advanced training, I will decide whether or not I will raise another puppy for them. So if I do, I would have two...and if, for some reason, Mirelle gets released from training, I would have three dogs here, two that would be permanent and another puppy in training. Not sure if I made myself clear at all, hope you can understand that. So, I could see myself having three dogs at once, and I'm not sure about four.

I currently have 9 at my house... 2 Greyhounds and 7 Border Collies (6 black and white and 1 blue merle). Thankfully most of them look alike, so most people think I only have 5, since I only take 3 to 4 BCs and 1 Greyhound out for walks at a time (one set in the morning and one set in the evening). :-) Works well! I show in Conformation, Obedience, and Rally currently, so all of my dogs work quite a bit!

right now we have 2 dogs. i know we could handle 3, and i would like to start fostering some. we maybe could handle more than 3. i dont think we could handle many more than 4 unless we had some working dogs that actually worked.

i told the wife we needed a livestock farm (cattle would be my choice) so we could get some working herding dogs. i dont like hunting, but i do like watching gun dogs work (weird i guess [:D]).

all that said, i dont think we could ever have less than 2 dogs again. i love having more than one dog in the house. [:D

I only have one.  I'd love for him to have a playmate, but I don't think at this point in my life I have the time or energy for another one.  Even though I don't have a lot of space, that's not the biggest issue.  I feel like I put all my extra time and energy towards C's exercise, mental stimulation, extracurricular activities :-) etc, I don't know how I would manage two!

We have 12. 7 are mine the rest are fosters.I was only supposed to have 5 but we recently found Mia who is too old to even condsider adopting out and Emmie who is also in her senior years will be staying with us.
