    To name a few,

Spiritdog- gave me some wonderful book suggestions and has helped so much in training that I can't thank her enough

Gina- I just love what she has to say about breeding and just dog breeds in general.

Glenda- So kind and I enjoy reading what she has to say.

I'm sure there are many more I forgot to mention but I am just so thankful all of you are here!

I tend to have more questions regarding health issues, so I've gotten the most helpful advice and learned the most from Callie.  I've learned a lot from reading about training and behavior from Ann (Spiritdogs) and Mudpuppy and Mic, when he was here...and I'm sure there are others too, so these are just a few that came to mind right away.  I feel that just about everyone on here has something of value to offer, even if it's in the form of a question that stirs up a productive discussion.

...and even just reading some threads posted by members on here have helped me understand my dog better.

That's my expierence, too.  I don't recall ever having actually asked for help/advice, but I know I've gained a lot of knowledge just from reading the posts here.  One thing that stands out is a thread I read on muscle atrophy, and supplements to help prevent it.  That's when I decided to try giving Mick Cholodine, and I was so glad I did.

I'd like to say thanks to Spirit dogs, and Callie, and Cathy(gold bond works wonders!) and Sandra, and Glenda, for all their great advice.
Billy, (yes Billy because we all need the pot stirred from time to time, makes for interesting reading).
And you too Zebby for always trying to put things in a positve light.

Good greif. I think I'd have a list a mile long if I thanked every person that suggested something that helped, over the two years I've been on this forum. It's a GREAT place to be, and I'm glad that ALL of you are here!
    • Gold Top Dog
The list *would* be a mile long if I named *everyone* that I learned from... but two that helped the most, I'll say Christine w/ Slick for NYC dog stuff and Callie for therapy dog stuff.
    • Gold Top Dog
Callie, Callie, Callie, Callie! She is so knowledgeable, and so willing to help in any way she can. I've learned a ton from her - and her posts are so fun to read.
    • Gold Top Dog
My focus is mostly on behavior, training and understanding my dog better so my short list (which means I'm forgetting most of the people here) and in no particular order: Anne (spiritdogs) Glenda (glenmar) Mic when he was here, Gina, Callie, silly-sally, Xebby, Willowchow and even those people with whom I don't agree.  Everyone here here has helped me through tough times and answered so many of my questions.

And to everyone I didn't mention Thank you as well.  I like to think of this forum as a puzzle and all of us are just little pieces in it.  Every piece is important.  Even those who lurk are important: without them who would see the puzzle in it's entirety?

Oh gosh, this list is just a beginning, just about EVERYONE here has helped me in some way, but I'll list the ones that REALLY stick out in my mind:

Sooner (Kelly)-She was the first to congratulate me on getting Ella and the first to suggest the awesomest toys for her (that I STILL have. Also she is the internet resource lady. I've learned some pretty valuable nutritional information from her. She's just awesome.

Callie-a total god-send. SO willing to help me with Ella's skin issues.

Papillon 806-She taught me about ash content. I'm SO grateful for that info. I don't know if she knows just how much!

Alieliza- She led me to other pit bull owners who have also helped me TONS. She was always so willing to help me whenever I had breed questions.

Jennie_cd- has helped out (even though she doesn't know it) when Ella wouldn't eat, it was calming to read some of her posts and she helped me learn to tough love it.

Glenmar(Glenda)-I've learned a LOT of nutritional information from her posts. I remember she taught me the eggshell thing and she was also calming to read when Ella wouldn't eat.

Willowchow (lori)-She was a comfort in understanding how HARD it was for me to tough love it through Ella not eating. Plus she has the most beautiful chow in the ENTIRE WORLD.

Mudpuppy-The mysterious mudpuppy even helped me. Her posts encouraged me to start feeding raw and somehow they encouraged me to keep at it. Weird.

JJs_mom (Shelly) and Twin-Shelly always gives me great recipes and helped me with some questions about greyhounds.
Twin is good at finding out info about T.O. products before the rest of the dog world.

Spriritdogs-She always helps when I'm freaking out about Ella with other dogs on our walks.

Lauric-she has answered my questions about raw and her site is the raw diet bible for me!

Gina-she's great at finding music stuff to entertain us in NDR. And very knowledgeable about breeds!

SillySally-She had useful advice about the breaking stick. And I love her dog.

SandraSlayton-helped me with crockpotting for Ella

    Gosh, who am I forgetting?

I'll probably edit this list to add.
I spend MOST of my time here in Nutrition. Most of my people are nutrition people.

Gosh…I think this is going to be a long one!![;)]
I first found this forum while reading up on allergies and foods for allergy dogs. I was so welcomed and learned so much from Callie, Cathy and Jessies mom right from the beginning. Callie was so kind to call me long distance to help me work through so many allergy problems with JJ.[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

In the nutrition area where I spend most of my time I have learned a lot from so many but I have to mention Sooner (the weblink goddess![;)]), Glenda, Chewbecca, Chelsea and Edie.

Under Misc. stuff, I have learned so much from WillowChow, Dyan, Jennie and Gina.

Training- Anne, Mudpuppy and recently from Houndlove who helped me out with clicker training.

I have to thank Xerxes for all that he has taught me about my dogs and sighthounds in general…you are truly a wealth of knowledge Ed!

Last but not least…I have to thank my TWO thread buddy Twin…not only for being as neurotic as I am about dog poop and feeding new food…but also for being such a good friend.. thanks Rachel![:D]   I know there are tons of folks I probably missed…but this was just off the top of my head!  Thank you i-doggers!![8D]

I've been here about 2 1/2 years -- I've moderated another very small board for about 9 years and it gets tough.  Another board I'd been active on for a long time (like 7 years) died a slow, painful death and when I came here I really was looking for some place I could learn from ... people who were supportive, and at the core kind and helpful.  I've met some of the neatest people on here and I've learned A LOT.

It's been a tough 2 years.  I started on here just about the time we lost Muffin the Intrepid., and then in short order we lost Pollyanna (we took a little abused dog who didn't survive her injuries) and then my old Ms. Socks.  3 in 6 months nearly did me in.

I cook better because of Glenda (and others). I train better because of Anne (Spirit Dogs) and Mick and a LOT of others. Sandra Slayton I've known for a long time and frankly, Billy is alive because of her, because SHE made me aware of IMHA, what it was, and how important it is to treat it fast.

But overwhelmingly the people I need to thank are those who have lent their good thoughts and prayers to me (and I'm gonna get real names and screen names mixed up here).  From Lena, Cakana, Tacran, Angel, Mick, Kelly, Becca, Lori, Mudpuppy, Jennie, Olina,  Jean, GradyUpMyButt, Jaime, Outdoorschik (Karen - you and I keep encouraging each other -- more than you know!!), and there are a ton of folks I keep in touch with who are kinda sporadic on here or who aren't here any longer who have helped me in countless ways.

For those of you reading this who haven't seen your name -- I need to thank YOU too.  Why?  Because there are so many of you out there who haven't maybe typed a post TO me or an email TO me, but you've sent good thots and prayers in my direction.  I will never know all those who helped lift Billy and I up this summer.  I can't tell you folks how many days I barely dragged thru ... days when I simply wanted to hide but I couldn't.  And SO MANY TIMES in just trying to give you all an 'update' it actually made ME count my blessings and see things in a better light.

Times when some of you emailed me with questions -- honestly that, too, helped ME because it kept me focused and it kept me remembering that there's a balance to all things.

rwbeagles and houndlove -- I read more than you might think and you've helped me understand my Luna (my bagle - bassett/beagle "definitely a hound dog mix").

I've been on I-Dog for ages, we're talking about 6+ years, and I've learned a lot from everyone. What I like most about this board is that you have a lot of different people who are "experts" in so many different aspects in the canine world. If you ask a question, you're bound to get an educated answer. With that said, it's hard to name specific folks who've helped me but I'm going to break it down the best I can...

Debbie(SalukiMom)- Debbie and I go way back to the Acmepet board. I'll never forget when her beloved Rose passed on and she was there for me when I got into Borzoi for a spell.

Brenda- She's no longer on this board but I keep in contact with her. She's like a kindred spirit to me.

Lillian- She's no longer here as well but God bless her for creating the Dog Food Project. She broke it down in a way that "regular" folks could understand dog nutrition.

Anne(Spiritdogs)- If you need training advice, she's the person you go to.

Gina(RWBeagles)- I respect responsible breeders and Gina is one of them. She's the kind of person who not only talks the talk but she walks the walk. If I knew of someone who is looking to add a Beagle to the family, she'd be the first person I'd recommend.

Glenda- She's our "Mini Moderator". She likes to help keep things in check so they don't turn really ugly. It's not something she has to do but she does it to help things from getting ugly.

Mudpuppy- A wealth of information when it comes down to nutrition.

Callie(CallieCritters)- Extremely knowledgeable in health issues especially with herbal remedies.

Jaime- I'm sure we drive her insane and I don't envy her job but I admire her for what she has done in the Amstaff world. With all the BSL and irresponsible breeding going on when it comes to Amstaff's and Pit Bulls, it's nice to see someone doing something positive for those breeds.

Right now my brain is fried and if I didn't mention you, it doesn't mean you were forgotten. There's just so many people on here and I think the majority have made positive contributions to the board and there's no way I could name them all in one post. [:D]

There are so many folks who have been a blessing on this board.  I learned a TON about nutrition from many people who have moved on, including Lilian.  Those folks opened my mind about feeding, while folks like Sandra kept me from slamming it shut......

Anne has made me a better trainer no doubt in my mind.  And Callie, wow, she's always got the strangest ailments in her crew  and she's been there and found ways to deal with all this stuff.  I can always, always count on Callie when I see something that I absolutely can't help with and I know that if I forward her a link in case she doesn't see something, she'll be there to help.

Sooner, yep, she's the link godess.  She gives me a hard time now and then, but by golly she sure has the links for everyone when they are needed

Jaime keeps me sane with the occassional email that says "you sure are cranky today...."

And I can't even begin to list all the folks who really step up when I have yet another crisis in the family and offer me support and prayers.  Or the folks who just pop up in my inbox to say hello......

And what about all the wonderful folks who helped me raise a whooping $2000 for the MS Walk this year?  And goofy Billy threatening to post naked pics of himself if folks didn't donate more?  LOL!

it's too early in the morning and I've not had enough coffee to remember everyone, but I guess that'll have to do as a start!

I am newish to this forum and I have to say that for the most part I like everyone. Some have a lower thresh hold then others on certain subjects, but everyone seems to get along.

I have learned alot here in my few short months, but I know that if I have a serious issue or need advice I can come here and I will more then likely get some assistance. I live around people who do not have pets, so they do not understand my involvement in my dog. It is nice to be able to go somewhere and get what you need. And since I have a new puppy you can bet I will be posting more.
