I have to make my New Year's resolution early this year. I must stop going to the shelter. My monthly donations need to be sent via my husband for the tranquility of our house to remain. I also need to block Petfinder from my website.
As many of you know, I went to the shelter last week to ask about the blind gordon setter. After discovering that he was going to a foster home, I dared to look at the cats they had up front. The shelter has their cats displayed right up front. I am a cat person as well as a dog person. Heck, I am a furry animal person. Lo and behold, a calico kitten caught my attention. The shelter told me that she wasn't available until the next day. They open at 10. I figure to myself end of story to this kitten. My son has an appt. at the same time that the shelter opens.
That night at dinner, I relay my shelter adventure to DH. He starts making noises about how we could have 1 more cat and that we haven't lived up to the promise about Motor to our 3rd son. Sebastian was after a kitten named Motor during the summer. We told him that if he finally potty trained and had no accidents for several months, we would consider getting him Motor. BTW, Sebi is 5 in 3 weeks and I know that I am the caretaker of Motor and our other cats and dogs. I kept saying that I had an appt. for Hawke in the morning at the same time the shelter opened, so I wished to end the conversation.
You guessed it folks!!! Despite having an appt. at 10, I ventured to the shelter after the appointment and adopted Motor the same calico kitten. Tomorrow, she comes home. I am now thinking, "Oh boy."
So, I am now beginning my resolution. I am not going to search through Petfinder and when I donate to the shelter, I am sending my husband instead. Also, if he brings home someone, I can blame him.
