Update on dog living in basement

[:D]Check me out now --- I've been adopted and couldn't be happier

About 2 weeks ago I shared a story about myself and a co-worker found a dog living in a basement we were working in. I took digital pictures, informed animal control, the dog was removed that same day because the living conditions were so bad. I honestly didn't know if the dog was adoptable when he was removed and had a 2nd chance. Well I went back to Animal control today to find out the status.
The women who works in the office said they would take the dog in the office to socialize and he would growl not really letting you near him. Well they took him to the Vet for the check up and he had a suprisingly clean bill of health. The Vet did have to cut a few knotted fur balls from his back area that were pulling his skin. So now when he gets back to the animal control he is brought back into the office and he then jumped up on the same lady he growled at earlier all happy. She said it was like night and day, maybe he was in pain with the matted fur didn't want anyone touching him. The sad news is I didn't get to see him today [:(] the happy news it was because he was adopted to a very nice man who couldn't wait to take him home and spoil him. The animal control had many people interested, but they say they found someone who really connected with the dog. [:)]
Remember me, Well I now have a new life, and on my behalf if you ever see an animal neglected please do something. My owners admitted to the animal control that I lived in this basement all the time because they had no room for me in the house. NO ROOM, look at me I'm tiny. My owners were also running a daycare for kids, they are now under investigation by DCYF and the State. I thought I had no chance but because someone stepped up and spoke for ME I now have a 2nd chance.

Wonderful news!  Pretty scary that they are involved with children too, imagine how they take care of them??  I never stop being amazed at people's ridiculous justifications of the way they act.  OK, so there was no room upstairs, what stopped them from keeping the dog in clean conditions and grooming him??

    Good for you, Wendy!  [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

I thank all of you that did read the thread and responded. My goal is to make sure everyone knowes we ALL can make a difference in a situation like this. I know many, but there have been times when people ask what if ??? and what can we do???
We need to do what is best for the dog/animals, they can't speak. I know all of you are animal lovers or you woudn't spend your time here. We need to remember that speaking out can save a doggie life!!!
