So far so good!!! The vet visit went well, she's 6-7 months old and a mix of heeler and shepherd

Awww poor baby; she sure is cute; some people who've met Jessie thought she may be Blue Heeler and Shepherd. We adopted her when she was about 8 months old and she had whipworms and you could see her ribs. Our obedience instructor was sure she had been hit; she used to back away when people tried to pet her and would stop about five feet from us and cower when we called her. I'm so glad the checkup went well and she's getting along with the cats and other dogs. Bless you for rescuing her.

Thanks everybody! I got a couple of e-mail updates about Annie today:

"What we've learned in the last 16 hours:

    1. Cats are scary.
    2. Beds are different from floors. They have sides that can be fallen off of…twice.
    3. The bottoms of food bowls cannot be licked through.
    4. Some dogs are too short to drink out of the toilet like other dogs.
    5. My Mom gave me something strange this morning when she left for work. I think she called it a "treat"."

    and

"She's not food aggressive, but she definitely wants her share. I put everybody else's bowls down before hers and she was right there with a, "Where's mine?" look.

She didn't know what a treat was. I had to put it into her mouth. She already knows her name and is obviously very smart (she picked you for sympathy). I think she was very tired last night or else she's really mellow because she acted like she'd lived in that house all her life. She laid on the tile in front of the door from the living room to the dining room. She found a spot on the office floor when I checked e-mail. She stayed outside the bathroom when I took a shower but in sight and did the same this morning when I was getting ready.

When I brought her home, she got out of the car on her own. I had the garage door closed. When I opened the house door, Emma and Sable were standing there but she walked right in and kind of looked around with a "this will do" attitude. I let them all outside. Cassie immediately investigated then Annie started wagging her tail. The neighbors were outside and she walked up to the fence when I was talking to them. She hasn't figured out the running up and down the fence thingie yet, but then she may be above that sort of rowdiness."

So it sounds like Annie is doing great. I can't wait to get over there and see her this weekend.

    Hi,

I am so happy for you and Annie.  I  have not had a chance to post much this week, took some time off for Romeo and I and went to the country, my laptop did not work up there and now I am swamped at work.  I read the post last night and I had a big smile on my face reading about Annie.

Good luck with her, she is a cutie.  Keep us posted.  I am enjoying the updates very much.
