Jade

    Jade

Yesterday, Jade was spayed. She is approximately 9 months old now. This pic was about a month ago. That carpet piece she is laying next to is able to move. Actually, she will fight and slay the evil big carpet dragon and drag it over to the regular carpet.

Second pic: she's hunting bag mice. She climbed in to that bag all by herself.

Awww... with all the cats I've been seeing on this forum I want a kitty now.  Infact I want two cats and their names will be Zen and Karma...ok I can dream right?

It's so funny what cats can get themselves into, love that secound pic![:D]

I like it, too. The pic with the carpet, I just had to post. We first noticed that carpet piece over on the regular carpet and assumed it was Shadow because he's big and strong. Then, I caught her doing it and Shadow was exonerated.

We're keeping her kind of separated for a few days until she can run full speed. Shadow chases her now and then, in play, especially when she asks for it. Technically, he can run faster than she can, but she's got maneuverability and the ability to fit into small spaces that he can't, just like the other thread in this section about cats getting behind or under the couch. I don't need her ripping out stitches, even if she's just having fun pestering the big dog.

She'll get her stitches out in 10 to 14 days. And, she'll quit going into heat. It was funny when she did. She would do that special purr-meow and present herself to DW, me, Shadow. We think she was going into heat whenever this old tomcat that runs loose would hang around. My neighbor values that loose tom and so do I. He said that tom went under my house through a foundation vent where the ac lineset runs. He came back out with a big rat. I can live with that tom roaming around. Jade is an indoor cat.

Aww! She's so cute. I want a cat, but my hamsters wouldn't like it.

But the cat might like the hamsters. Maybe too much.

    Aww, she's a cutie!

Glad that her surgery went well. It's been over 13 years since I've been through a kitty surgery, but I remember Kristy was very unhappy for a few days. She tends to hold grudges, so I think we're still paying for it. [;)] Hopefully Jade handles it better.

    What a pretty kitty!!!
    Love her!!!

I'd have a cat in a heartbeat if I wasn't so positive that Ella would eat it and I'm SOOO allergic to cats. I swell up REAL bad. My friend vacuums her house from top to bottom before I come over (she has 3 cats) and I can still stay no longer than an hour and I walk out a teary, snotty, congested mess.[:(]

Aww! Ms. Jade is so pretty.

Bet she can't wait to be able to run the house once again with Shadow. My boys didn't like when they got fixed, both of them ended up hiding under the couch for days.

She is so cute. She makes you want to squuuueeezeee her.

She purrs when I stroke her and seems okay, though a little sluggish. That's the main reason we're keeping her separated. Shadow can play hard and fast and she needs "get away" speed.

That's probably what she would do. We've got her in one of the front bedrooms that serves as storage, weight room, my clothes, etc. I've got it arranged so that she has blankets here and there and easy access to the window sash so that she can survey her kingdom. The incision looks great. It probably won't leave hardly a scar, if any. The vet did a great job.

She is pretty. And long. When she stretches up, she can almost reach a doorknob. I half-way suspect she will figure out how to open a door.

    I'm SOOO allergic to cats

I'm sorry for you. I like cats. Misty was my cat for almost 17 years. My only misgiving in bringing Jade home was the same fear you have with Ella. So, I took Shadow on a walk by the friend's house, which served as neutral territory. And they were getting along, then. And they still do. The only time Shadow wants to fight her is if she gets too close to me when I'm feeding him meat. All I have to do is call "here" and he's back to me. The steak is more important. Other times, he'll want to chase her for play. And she gets away with a lot. She'll do hit-and-runs and he will put up with it for a long time. Sometimes, though, he will give chase. He wants to play but he doesn't realize his strength.  When he was a little puppy, he was growing up with a tomcat and a JRT and they each had about the same strength.

She is so elegant and beautiful!  Glad her spay went well.
