My black lab Coal loves to chase cats. Has since he was a pup at the old house when the cat would run out of the bushes (cat would wait for us to walk by and then take off right in front of Coals nose). so we when moved into new house and living on a busy street cats had to become indoor cats. So have been putting the cats up at night or anytime the dogs are inside. well this past week i have started opening the cat door and letting the cats explore with the dogs in the house again. put a pet gate up at the cat room so they can go in there if needed a break from dogs.
You guys should see Coal. One of the cats always goes behind the couch and of course Coal being 90 lbs cant fit. Its the funniest thing. All you see if a black tail wagging 90mph and a butt sticking up in the air and all of a sudden this huge bark echos under the couch.... This guy never barks btw... its just so funny watching him he wants sooooo bad to smell the cats and they are hiding and he goes and finds them each and everytime... and Casey joins in and starts barking.... they are tyring to get the cats to run and all they do is sit there and give them "the look" ... its pretty funny but things are calming down finally... we slept good last night Coal only got up a few times barking at a cat passing in the hall. instead of sleeping in the bed with me the dogs are all sleeping in the door so they can watch out for the big bad cats.....
sorry such a long post was just really funny watching these 75 & 90 lb dogs get soooo worked up over 2 cats.....their tails are wagging the whole time like ohhhh mom got us a new toy.... only it hisses and tries to scratch us...lol..
