I have always wanted one. I think they are awesome. today on our little "classified ad" network at our workplace there was a rottweiler listed. 6 years old. The ad says he needs training....and that "this is his last chance before he is put to sleep"
I haven't had a chance to call and find out what that means....ask any questions...but I will on Monday. Meanwhile, can anyone tell me if they know of someplace that might take this dog around Philly? It is probably located somewhere around Valley Forge since that is where we work. I can't get this dog out of my mind.

First i would find out if he "needs training" Has anything to do with aggressive problems.One would think that if they wanted to put him to sleep there must be a big problem.Of course it could be something simple and the owner is just an idiot.

Many of the Rott rescues have trainers or behaviorists that they call on to evaluate dogs. Try getting in touch with your local group. Maybe they can help you assess the dog thoroughly to see if he's safe to go to a new home.
