    Welcome to the forum.

For some reason, your thread title reminded me of something my drill sergeant said to a fellow trainee, who was from Texas.  This was over 30 years ago, so I really have no idea why the memory came back now, but he said:

"There are only two things that come from Texas, steers and queers.  I don't see any horns on you."  [:D]

Umm, that's a quote from the movie Full Metal Jacket - and it goes "Holy dog #$&!. Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down."

It goes on but it's to graphic - R Lee Ermy has some colorful (for lack of a better term) classic line's!

It was a classic movie illustrating what boot camp was like and how marines were prepared for Vietnam. Not to mention the ill effects such training can have on a fragile mind - Can't believe Vincent D'Onofrio now does Law and Order - looks totally different and R. Lee Ermy is still making money off that military persona with Mail call on the history channel..

Ohh and it came out in the late 80's so it was closer to 20 years ago...

I haven't seen that movie in AGES!

    FMJ was an excellent movie.

Ermy, I believe, actually was a USMC drill sergeant.  Perhaps that is why he was so convincing in the movie.

he has a show on some History channel network....the military channel or something? Called "Mail Call" where he answers viewer mail/??'s about military stuff. It's quite amusing at times.

I didn't actually see the webpage before I posted about FMJ - now I feel bad for "hijacking". Pepsi seems like such a lovable lug! I hope some rescue's him!

is there one of those non-euthanizing rescue/shelters in the area? I wish I could help! Is it one of those shelters that you can sponser a dog?

poor Pepsi - do you know why he is up for adoption? Was he abondoned? A run away?

He's not at a rescue that takes fundings, it's a basic city shelter where any dog thats been there for more then "x" amount of days gets euthanized. I've contacted over 8 rescues, one boston rescue would take him in,they just need someone to foster him, i'd do it, but my hands are already full as it is :-( not sure of his whole story as to where he came from :-(
