    Big Problem

I have a big problem. We have fleas. My arents and I  would not like to use the bombs to rid of them but is that the only way. We had them confined to kitchen for a couple days letting them out to go. We got frontline and put that on and we got tons of fleas off. They  fell like crazy. They stopped itching for a week or so and we continued to vacum and spray the flea killer. Though just tonight I found one on me and one of the dogs. What do I do. I dotn even know where we got them. Dog park maybe. I feels so bad for the dogs.

If they are that bad, you may have to use a bomb. You could try vacuming with a flea collar in the vacume bag, but if that doesn't work definatly bomb.

I know this is why you don't want to bomb, but remeber to flip over the mattresses, couch cousions, and rugs. Also leave the cubbards and closets open and, of course, wash the dishes after the bombs been released.

    Good luck!

Thank you. today  is going to  be a total cleaning day  everything is being washed, vacumed, anything to get it clean. We have the part of the flea collar in the vacum.

Dispose of the vacuum bag when you are done, also.  You may need to treat your yard as well.

I hate fleas! I had fleas really bad in my room once, and one thing that cut doen on them was having a shallow dish or oil or rubbing achohol  right under a light thing and that being the only light in the room. The light attracted the fleas, and the oil killed them. But, I only had a flea problem in my room, not the whole house.

Bombing isn't going to solve the problem - it will just add chemicals to the enviornment, but won't help long term b/c in two more weeks, more will hatch out and you can't use those chemcicals often enough -it's not safe enough.  There are different stages of the flea cycle, and in the pupa stage, nothing kills them - not even bombs.  I recently answered another thread about this if you want to do a search, you can get more info.  If still confused,  write back.  There are things to use that are safer - but you can't get rid of them in one day.  It just won't kill all the stages, and the more chemicals you use, the more it hurts the immune system of your dog, and ironically enough, the more fleas will be attrackted to them b/c fleas are always more attracked to dogs with even slighly compromised immune systems.

I would warn against using rubbing alchohol or oil.  If the dog happens to get in the room, then that could cause serious harm if he drank it.  Even with cooking oil, that much oil at one time could set off an acute pancreatic attack and kill the dog.  The chance of harming / killing the dog is too great.
