Wow... I wish my dogs could sleep w/me but the cats have the run of that area. I've got 4 of them on my bed every night, one on the pillow next to me, one at the foot of the bed, one beside me and one usually tucked between my legs somewhere.
The dogs on the other hand have nice comfy beds ( 2 a piece ) but hardly ever sleep on them. They're mainly a place to go gnaw on a toy or a bully stick. They've taken over the furniture and go back and forth from the couches to the floor. One loves lying in on the diningroom floor because it's tile and nice and cool there although it bothers me because it just seems so uncomfortable. I've got two more now, small dogs and at night or when Im at work they both sleep in the large crate that belongs to one of the big dogs. It's like their little "apartment". There are two beds in it and it's covered up so nice and cozy in there. They have their own little polarfleece throws to cuddle up with . The crate is open and they have free run of the kitchen which is blocked off by a baby gate. I always leave a nightlight on and music during the day as well as make sure they have all of their toys to keep them busy.
The big dogs have free run of the living and diningrooms. The rest of the house belongs to the cats. The dogs and cats are separated by a baby gate in the main hallway that leads to the bedrooms. When I only had one dog and two cats, they all slept in my room on the bed
. The other dogs are too anxious around the cats so they don't have access to the bedrooms. During the day the small dogs love to sleep on top of the back of the sofa or chair so they can look out the window. When I'm on the sofa watching tv or taking a nap the two small dogs ALWAYS have to be with me. One lays at my feet, the other one either on my chest or under the covers curled up in the crook behind the back of my legs and the two big ones are usually on the other couch or floor right next to me.
It's great to be loved, isn't it ?
