need some sort of ball throwing machine/catapult/trebuchet

hi, i have 2 dogs; a 9 year old beagle terrier, and a 15 month old beagle rat-terrier. the elder one loves to chase tennis balls, and the younger one is obsessed with his lacrosse balls. the problem is, my 56 year old father is the one who plays alot of the time with them while he works in the yard and he throws the balls for them and such. but he has arthritis and cannot do it more than a few times without being in pain. my question is, are there any devices out there capable of launching a tennis and a lacrosse ball 30-40 feet? thanks

Petsmart used to sell an electronic ball launcher, but for something lower-tech, what about a Chuckit? It's a long handle with sort of a 'cradle' on the end for a ball- you can use it to pick up the ball (no bending over) and the leverage from ti lets you throw a ball a LOGN way very easily, so it takes very little effort to throw it only 30-40'. You could even really use a lacross stick, but the chuckit's easier to pick up balls off the ground with from a standstill.

get a Chuckit!  They sell them at petsmart, etc. . . . you will have no problem launching a tennis ball hundreds of feed it you wanted to.

You could also check on e-bay or craigslist for a used tennis ball launcher.  Don't know how that would compare pricewise to the godoggo, however - those things start out pretty pricey.  The GoDogGo thingie allows the dogs to load the balls on their own.

I have a tennis ball obsessed dog as well.  The chuck-it was the best thing I ever purchased.  I have the smaller one, it comes in two sizes.  During holiday time, Costco usually has this huge bag of toys, and not only is the chuck-it in there, but also the flying squirrel along with a bunch of toys and treats and the total cost is like $19.00.  It was a steal!

I have the chuck it and the launcher and we love both of them..the launcher definately sends the ball alot further with less effort. I found our launcher at GI Joes on sale for $14.99 last Christmas. I gave it to my husband as a gift. He loved it..and so does the dog.

I have always wanted the GoDogGo machine.
