    Lab Mixed with Wah!?? HEHE

Hello Everyone, I came upon this site and love seeing your dogs! They are soo cute!, Then I noticed some asking the same questions I've been asking myself about my own dog. Some background first I guess.  I got Sally in New Mexico at the pound, I could see she had some black lab in her and well she just wanted to come home with me so I couldn't say no, Got all her shots, moved to Arizona, She came down with Parvo:( Took her to the vet, they treated her and she some how pulled through, they kept her there for 3 weeks isolated with an IV, we visited her daily. Not sure if that stunted her growth or not cause she's only 45lbs. She's a super dog!, I've got 3 kids 4, 7 and 10, She's been with us since my 7 year old was 3 months old. She's traveled with us from Arizona to Alaska. And is very protective of my kids and myself. When my husband is home she is more relaxed and lazy hehe, She is very smart didn't take us long to teach her the basic commands, and some extras, However, She's horrible on the leash! And she's sometimes very stubborn, could anyone give me a hint of what type of ears she has? I can see they aren't Lab. I've been told Everything from English Bulldog to Boarder Collie, Her nose seems to be different then the usual Lab as well but she still looks a lot like a Lab.. She's very prone to ear infections, I have to take her to the vet every 3 to 6 months to get medication to treat her ears they say it is from the Canal opening. I am hoping that if I can find out what type of dogs ears she has I can have a better understanding of how to treat her infections, as well as just know hehe. Well thank you for taking the time to read this I look forward to any replies!:) I hope I put the picture on here LOL

Wow what a pretty dog! Her coat is so shiney...
I definately see lab in there too, but I don't know what she is mixed with. I'm sure someone else will come along and know. I just wanted to say that she is a cutie![:)]

It's hard to say since her growth and development may have been affected by the parvo. She might be a poorly bred Lab, or maybe have a little something else in there.  In the middle picture, she looks Boxer-ish, but doesn't in the others.  I would say Lab mix pretty well sums her up! :)

That's interesting that her growth might have been stunted by having Parvo, because the same thing happened with my friend's Lab mix. She had Parvo as a puppy, and now she's quite petite, not at all like a Lab build. Actually, her face looks a lot like your dog's, though Montana doesn't have any white and is more slender. They thought she was a purebred Lab, but now they think she might have been mixed with something  because of how she looks. Sorry I can't help with identifying your dog! Sure is cute though [:)]

My dog is a mix and has small ears with really small canals(thats him in the avatar). My vet told me from the first visit I was going to have troubles with his ears because of it. He did have a few infections as a puppy, but when I started feeding him raw, that ended. I can't say it was because of the raw food..I have no proof, but I truly think it's what made a difference. He gets kibble sometimes too, but I go with kibble that is not grain heavy and has no corn, wheat or soy in it. I think his immune system is very strong and keeps him from getting infections and such. He is a Catahoula mix..I think there is some Shar-Pei in there given his ears and muzzle. His ear leathers are very thick.
Your girl is beautiful and very lucky you walked into her life.
