    Breed?

    Just browsing petfinder...

Might be hard considering he's only 4wks, the site says lab/retriever/gsd cross. I don't know why I'm having a hard time agreeing, but his snout just looks more square than those breedsto me...  So iunno.
Hes really cute though [:)] How long of coat do you think he'll get?

That age ALL breeds have that big ole square muzzle lol. They change a lot from about 4 to 8 weeks bodytype wise. Lab cross is certainly likely from what I can see. Coat would be fuzzier if it was going to have any length so about Lab length I'd say. Cute and very, very young!

Yeah, it's very hard to tell what breed he is. For now b/c of his color of fur he looks like a Golden Retiever

What a cutie!  My first thought was a Shar Pei mix because of his tiny ears.  Who knows...maybe as he grows his ears will too.

His eyes are still blue and thoes ears still look so tiny and somwhat still closed. I'de have to guess Lab or golden/shepard also but he's just so tiny it's hard to say. I hope whatever people have him listed on petfinder at least waite till he's 8 weeks old to place him. I don't think shar pei at all, his face is not wrinkly enough and peis ears are also much higher set on their head. Even Giz had that fat boxy puppy nose when she was 6 weeks old and it grew out.

Random googled shar pei puppie for comparison

    Random googled golden

I see Chow in him...hopefully, we will see him in a week or two (and then he's off to e forever home, right?[:)]).

I hope in about 4 weeks, that pup is too young to be away from his mom, but if no mom then I hope he goes to someone who knows how to care for a puppy. k.m.a do you have the link for this pup?

Ears don't really grow in proportion to the rest of the body.  They are very tiny for a while on all breeds.  Look at rwbeagles signature.  See how tiny those puppy ears are compared to the dogs on the sides?  It takes a while for them to get out of the tiny ear stage.  That is why its kind of hard to determine the exact ear set and carriage on puppies.  When evaluating show puppies, the breeder I work with usually doesn't pay too much attention to ears for a while.

I didn' pay much attention to Witt's ears when I got him, and when people started pointing them out to me I convinced myself they would grow with him. Witt was a Catahoula mix..and Catahoula was where my mind was at..they have ears more like a lab. Well Witt grew into a tank..but his ears did not. We tell him he has an ear deficit. =) I actually really like his ears now...they are so expressive.
His muzzle also stayed pretty chunky.
I think the pup looks like a Golden/Shar-Pei mix..but as others pointed out, it's hard to tell at this age.

Here is his picture from PetFinder at 4 weeks old.

I don't have a link for him on me right now, (and its probably not there anymore) .. but he is 8 wks now, and he has already gone to his home, unfortunately. The shelter kept him for the additional 4 wks before he was adopted out, of course. All the dogs I'm interested in end up being taken. [:(
