    GINA??? BRENDA??? Gone?

Yes, I was yelling. This is a continuation from this page: [linkhttp://forum.dog.com/discus/messages/49/247940.html]http://forum.dog.com/discus/messages/49/247940.html[/link]

    Where joel said "
"i just wasn't afraid of gina and her beagles and bunni and her tiny toy poodles..." And toward the end of the (many) posts it appears that Gina has left, is leaving us!?  My response to that thread, and to joel in particular is:  AFRAID OF? Who but the totally small membered and insecure would even think the word "afraid" in reference to a message board?  The fact that you lump Gina and I together shows how little you grasp here. No two people have bigger differences in opinion on what we do, how we do it and why, than Gina and I do. However, Gina and I have big enough body parts (the first being brains but the others too) to appreciate each other in spite of it.  If Gina and her massive amount of information (and tolerance) is gone because of a misogynistic bigot - and his being allowed to beat a dead horse ad nauseum - I'm not sure how long I'll be sticking around either.  ************************* While reading posts, before figuring out the new board I also just found this thread: (probably one of the last added to the old format)  [linkhttp://forum.dog.com/discus/messages/11940/248527.html?1141315494]http://forum.dog.com/discus/messages/11940/248527.html?1141315494[/link] Brenda says she's going to!  This is really a shame. I hate to rain on everybody's parade of trying out new smiley faces and colors but I don't see much to smile about. Something is wrong when the the people who are the most antagonistic and/or least knowledgeable can chase away the most helpful and well liked.  Brenda's right, this isn't fun anymore.

I haven't been here all that long but I agree 100% with you, Brenda, and Meilani (she has a similar thread in NDR).

I don't think that we (collective we) should be subjected to:

    ORIGINAL: oinest

well, i'm sure it's easier than for some of the people that hate my dad that type without a brain....

OTOH.... This board has a block function!! [:D]

I hate to see knowledgable go, and unfortunately, it seems to be a regular pattern at least since I've been here.

I agree that all these people should NOT be leaving.

I ignore posts by Joel when i find them stuupid or uncalled for. But this board is falling apart, and people are leaving, and i dont like it. Something needs to be done...

I agree Trina. But what do we do?

I saw Brenda's post saying she's leaving, but what happened with Gina?  I must have missed it and can't find it.  What a shame...

"I agree Trina. But what do we do? "

Here's what I do. . . Ignore the people who don't amuse me. Ignore the posts I don't feel like responding to, whether I like the person or not. Pretend I like everyone. Try my hardest to ignore posts that I think are rude, callous, racist, idiotic, or just plain boring.  Sometimes I fail at that, but I do try.

There are plenty of posts and posters that aren't my  cup of tea, but I bet you guys can't really guess which or who.  And sometimes the "not my cup of tea" posters say something I like, so I respond to them nicely.  Sometimes posters I usually enjoy say something I think is stupid, and I try to ignore that post.  I try to take each post individually rather than remember "Hey, that person said something really stupid about me the other day. I am going to assume that this post is probably stupid too."

Makes my idogging time a happier, friendlier time. [:)]

    sooner,

Have you ever used a message board where you blocked someone? I have. The conversation makes no sense. Try it, you'll see.

I don't know what we do...  But we have to do something... before we know it, all our most
    valuable members will be gone...

Its hard, because i don't think monitoring is the reason this is happening, Jamie does such a good job of it. Its like its sorta hard because when your NOT talking to somone face to face, you can't hear their tone of voice, or read their body langage, so things that that are meant as
sarcasm, or to be funny, other people cant understand....

I totally agree with Jen.  I see posts from certain people, and I just scroll right by them.  I just don't find anything they say useful or worth reading.  However - there are sooooo many others whose posts I enjoy, it's well worth the trouble.

Wow this makes me sad... those two members were very informative and I found them to be assets to this forum.  >-.-<  I for one will miss them.

Block feature eh?  I might test that out...

    I agree with Jen.

The board changes, people come and go. The ones you have bonded with you can still communicate with on another board or through email. Change is good. This happens all the time, no board is static. The good thing about it is new knowledgable individuals emerge.

The abuse will not continue on this forum...on the forum or OFF!!!

Most of the people here are adults and should be acting more like that.

There comes a point when things are out of my hands because of the abuse.

Enjoy the forum or abuse it...the choice is yours
