That is just so terrible. Well done staying strong and not letting an insecure petty passive aggressive "person" get you down.

It's espeically disturbing because in my mind, the whole point of boards like this is to have discussions with people with different opinions and perspectives WITHOUT getting personal. Discussions are no long discussions when people start making personal attacks. And the fact that it's not allowed on the public forum should send a loud and clear message that it's far from acceptable OFF the public forums. There's no excuse for that kind of cowardly and antagonistic behaviour. People that do things like that from the safety of their homes are very, very little people. It's a good way to alienate yourself and eliminate any chance you might have had at gaining any respect.

On a different note, I am a little worried about e-mailing and PM etiquette. I haven't been here long and I'm not sure if there are times that it's not the right thing to do (outside of the obvious that's come up in this thread). I've PMed and e-mailed on occaisions when I've either wanted a longer chat with someone that other people aren't going to be interested in, or when I want to comment, but have fallen behind the thread or don't want to rile everyone up with a back-and-forwards discussion with one person.

Is there documentation anywhere telling newcomers when it is appropriate to e-mail or PM and when it is not? Or is it not that big a deal as long as you're going to nice and fair?

Wow, Glenda.  I'm so sorry you received these messages.  I don't know what else to say, that is awful!  Don't let it bother you, it's not worth it.

Hmmmmm, someone must have a guilty conscionse!  I got a less than pleasant PM this time chewing me out for starting a thread about the sender.  I responded that I didn't know what they were talking about unless THEY were the lovely person who sent me the nasty email, and asked that person not to PM me again.
 
What do I get moments later??  ANOTHER PM from that person advising me that they hadn't read my PM since they are always mean and negative and they just don't want to deal with me.
 
So, to the PM writer.....as far as I know, I have NEVER sent you a PM until tonite and then only in response to yours and to ask you NOT to PM me.  Since you're reading this thread, consider yourself told that I do NOT want to receive PM's from you, and that I have reported both to Jaime.  Unlike some people on this board, I don't take kindly to your abuse and will NOT tolerate any more of it.  Perhaps you ARE the person who sent me the email.

It's really unfortunate that some people have so little else to do that they take a message forum about dogs so seriously.  It's sad.

I agree with all of the above.  Glenda, this is really unfortunate and I'm sorry you, and whoever else, are having to deal with it.  I thought everyone knew the trick when you're really upset of writing things down and waiting a day, maybe two, before sending it.  OTOH, you must really be quite powerful to cause such a reaction from someone you've probably never even met.

Yep, that's it.....this person is JEALOUS cuz I'm so smart and good-looking!  Why didn't I think of that??
 
Presumably it serves my hubby and sister right, and I'm guessing my Mom and nephew as well, to have health issues, since I'm SUCH a biotch......how the heck does THAT compute??
 
I just hope that person who sent the PM's realizes that by doing so, they pretty well confirmed my suspicions that THEY in fact sent the email.  Again....they know what part of my anatomy THEY can kiss......

It is ok to dissagree with someone and talk about it, but attacking someone personally is really stupid. I mean, I think roaches are so much scarier than snakes, but that doesn't make you a bad person. That doesn't even make sense. There are some weirdos in the world.
