I-doggers, does your dog do this??

    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, all 62 pounds and 26 inches height of him. He'll lay his head and front paws over my right arm.

    • Gold Top Dog
Yes, Dasher does. As soon as I sit down at my desk he plants himself at my feet and puts his front paws on lap and "asks" to come up on my lap. As soon as I put him on my lap he curls up and naps. [:D]

Yep, our 50 lb. Loki thinks he's a lap dog. And it's so darned cute that I can't tell him otherwise. Doesn't matter if we're on the couch, computer, or even the toilet (embarrassingly enough), he's always wanting to be on a lap. Julius, on the other hand, is simply content with sitting next to us, as long as we're touching him while doing whatever else we're attempting to do. I swear, you'd think they were attention-starved!!

No doggies in my lap while I'm on the computer. But Bree sits on DH's lap while he is. They do however, manage to squeeze three of their wee selves actually UNDER my chair. June lays a few feet away.

Someone asked about standing in your lap as a sign of dominance. I don't specifically know about that, but I *can* tell you that two of my dogs look at my lap as high value, and apparently as something that elevates their status. If I allow either one of them to sit in my lap, next thing I know they are scrapping. Almost without fail. It also seems to be more important to Bree than Ginger - and Bree is much pushier. So, the Pap is the only one who is allowed on my lap.

Zoey is on my lap right now!

Duke & Daisy take turns napping in my lap.
    • Gold Top Dog
Brown will paw at me for a couple of minutes then goes off to take a nap. Grey, however, will sit by me the entire time pawing until I look at him. Sometimes, if he needs to go outside, he'll also serenade me with his "awooo wooo wooo" noises.

I have one beside me, under the desk; the other right behind my chair - I can't get out!  But, my "caog" does all the time.  BTW "coag" refers to my cat, Bonkers, who thinks he's a dog.[:D]

Ace doesn't jump up or paw, but he will shove his ball or toy into my lap, endlessly hoping for a game of fetch to break out.  Or he'll sit next to me and just lay his head in my lap.   Usually he gives up after not too long, heaves a big sigh, and lies down.

My boys aren't allowed on furniture and I don't encourage them to jump on me, so usually when I'm at the computer they are laying at my feet. My cat, Kristy, gets lap time whenever I sit down, though. That's the main reason for the dogs not getting on the furniture. Kristy is 14 years old and she is the queen of the house. She needs some space that's just for kitties! [:)]

Perhaps they just want to read up on all the doggies on I-dog!  You know those times when the dogs mysteriously disappear?  They're on the computer in the secret part of I-dog made just for them.  lol.

Casey (pointer) likes to sleep under the desk on my feet and Carley (beagle) either sits in my lap or in the bar stool next to me.  The dumb cat though likes to lay next to the keyboard so I can barely type.
    • Gold Top Dog
    Oh yeah?

For the most part Russell leaves me alone when I'm on the computer. He naps or goes off to bug someone else. [:)] If I'm on the computer at dinnertime, he'll come stare at me, and afterward he'll come by to "thank" me for the meal (wag his tail and get a scritch on the butt).

Probably a smart move, that. Since Jessie is my hundred pound lap dog, Casper Kitten has taken over my armoire. He stretches up on the bed, hooks his paw in the handle and pulls it open, then curls up in my extra blankets and pajamas. This is HIS spot, where he can be dog free.

Of course this means my blankets never get to be hair-free, but what can you do?
