    What has the forum....

Done for you or helped you with? Do you think it's been an improvement in your dogs life or helped educate you on ownership or care?

I'd like to hear from you, I've been written to regarding our forum and I felt and expressed that this forum is a place where people can learn and support each other but I'd like to know what you all think.......

This forum has helped me soooo much! From helping me determine the sex of my puppy (very embarrassing I might add) to helping me deal with extreme aggression issues that I was having with Duke.  I have learned so much, there is so much advice on this site, you can find an answer to any question.  The best thing about this site is the community.  I feel like everyone really truly cares.  This is the best support group, I haven't been able to find anything like this anywhere!

I feel I have learned a lot on this site and had I found it sooner it would have saved me a ton of time looking up food and allergy info!  I feel there is a lot of experince that is out there that you can learn from.

I do believe it is a place to learn from one another, and even change our view on some stuff that we felt strongly about. Although, I think sometime sthe debates get a little heated (and I trully understand feeling so strongly about something that you can't see the other side) but I think folks need to figure out that they can't change everyones' opinion and they have to be OK with that. I tend to stay "out" of the hot debated topics!

I am so very glad I found this forum. . .lots of caring and supportive folks here!

I've learned the value of obedience school, what the more nutritious foods are & I feel like I've made a whole lot of neat new friends.  You can't ask more than that of a forum. [:D]

This forum introduced me to the ideas of NILIF, positive R training, helped me to understand a little bit more about my dog's relationship with me.  I've learned a great deal about behavior, I've gotten tips regarding just about everything dealing with dog care.  I feel like I know some of the posters personally.  I've laughed at some of the posts, I've cried at some of the posts, I've gotten support when I needed it, as well as a shoulder to lean on and I've always come away better for it.

The most important thing that this forum has done for me?  I feel like I've connected to a big family that loves and cherishes their dogs because they are dogs, and I feel that these people are my friends first and neighbors second.

Everyone helped me alot with Princess in her last year and when she was taken away was too soon I learned that I'm not the only one that had doubts about their dog and to be paitent with my little demon puppyI also learned there are people out there that are older than me that don't treat me like I'm 5 Of course I learned to feed Maisie food that didn't have wheat, by-products, etc.
    Thanks everyone

This forum helped me make the best decision of my life so far and that was to keep Ash. My entire family and  most friends were convincing me it couldn't be done, but this forum encouraged me and showed me it could.

I've learned about nutrition, the value and importance of obedience training, positive training methods, how exercise is KEY, I've been educated on puppy mills and pet shops, learned about BSL legislation, etc. I could go on and on. I've learned more from this forum about dogs than anywhere else in my life.

I just recently tried to remember how I even came across this forum and it was by pure accident. I was looking up dog sitting services in my local area and somehow this site came up in my search. I've been an addict ever since. This site is up on my work computer right next to all my actual work applications.

    Has this forum helped me???
    Are you kidding?
I adopted Ella because I found out the importance of adopting shelter dogs here. All the myths were put to death about adopting and I was shown the truths.

    I've learned about dog nutrition.
I've met some VERY helpful and informative dog people here.
This place has led me to some other helpful and informative people and places.

I learned what kind of toys to buy my dog. How often to feed her.
What kind of treats to get her. I've learned about her breed here.
And most importantly, I've gained education here that I am going to be able to pass on to other people about my dog's breed (I can be an advocate for the breed), dog food, pet stores that sell puppies, puppy mills, backyard breeders, and breeder ethics.

I'm not sure exactly, so hard to keep track. This place is awesome. You can talk about dogs in general, or how proud you are of something your dog did, and people won't think you're crazy!
I don't know how I found this forum either...
Just came up on a random search, but I'm so glad I did find it, because I love this place, but now I stay on the computer, even more than I did before[&:]

Wow, I'm betting most of us have great testimonials of what this forum has meant to us.  I found it 4 years ago when I was going thru the dog-dog aggression with Sassy and Buffy.  I left it for awhile when things calmed down but made my way back quite some time ago because of health issues (allergies) with Sassy and have become quite the dog.com addict.

I've been on other sites like justlabradors.com and although they're fine, I don't find the kind of meaningful discussions that go on here.  They can also be very cliquish and so if you're not one of the regulars, you're pretty much ignored.

I've been hang'n around for over 3 years and this forum has really changed my life in soooo many ways.

My house has never been so ill kept.
My kids can never find clean underwear.
I have learned how to throw a meal on the table in less than 15 minutes.
My typing skills have improved 10 fold. I now have a empoyable skill.
    I am now acronym literate.
I actually know people who own guns.
    I have one more addiction.

Besides that I am a better informed and happy dog owner.

I came upon this sight by accident. I had just gotten Tootsie and I was googling anything corgi and i-dog popped up. That was a year ago. I've learned about nutrition, obedience or the importance of formal training, BYBs, puppy mills, pet stores, etc... ,but most of all, I feel like you guys are my friends and you don't mind all the silly questions about dogs. I've always loved talking and reading about dogs, this forum is my outlet since no one else listens.[:)]Its also my addiction.

If anything this forum has tested my knolage about dogs.  Everything I say is questioned and I love it.  Makes me think harder about what I type and try even harder to get the facts correct.  Great for the field I'm going into.

Now for the information I get from here.  When I was choosing a breed I asked here and got so many resposes that I would have never thought of myself.  If I have the slightest concern about my dog I ask it here and it's been more than helpful.

Above that I just love the people here, dog people seem to understand each other more and share the same feelings.

Somehow, one day, I may have accidently wandered across dog.com. Anyway, I wound up on the email list. One email mentioned the forum. I visited and realize that me and my cross-breed dog would fit right in.

I thought I was learning before. Learning here has been logarithmic. As in each successive step is ever higher than the one before, best expressed by the function, f (x) = x^2. Sorry about that, I couldn't resist. BTW, ^ means "raised to the power of." I either learn directly from someone here or I read something that inspires me to read further, elsewhere. The latest thing I learned was from SillySally about the reason for which the processing of human food results in beet pulp.

One of the first things I learned brought about a profound change in thinking. And I learned it from Kennelkeeper.

Then, there was the time I wanted to find a way to keep Shadow cool in the hot weather. I couldn't find a cooler mat. Candace and Jaime showed me the light.

It is kind of like a family, here. Squabbles, laughs, sorrow, delight. A chance to wax poetic.

And, of course, everyone here is cuckoo, bongo, crazy for their dogs, and other pets. Just like me.
