    Question about possable UTI

Hi all I am new to this board and I have a question but I thought I would introduce me and my babies. Spike is a brindle Great Dane who is about 18mths old. Cj is a 6mth old brindle Pressa Canario.
    Now for the question:
Cj is still peeing on the carpet every now and then he can hold his #2 for as long as needed but sometimes he pees and I know that is not a big deal yet cause he is still kind of young but he does not squat when he pees and sometimes he just walks around and goes it kind of seems like he does not know he is going cause when you jump and say bad he looks like he doesn't understand what is going on. And sometimes when you do get him to go outside he goes alot then he goes back in the house and goes a little when he is walking around. I was thinking this sounds like somekind of UTI but just wanted to get someone elses opinion on it. Some people have been saying not to worry about it cause he is still so young and it does not seem to bother him and I have looked at his pee it is not really dark in fact most of the time it looks like water.
Thanks in advance for your help. I never had this problem with Spike he was  completly trained by 4mths and has only had a couple accidents since and they were my fault.

Yes, sounds like it's off to the vet for you guys. I'd do it asap. UTIs are painful!

Yeah thats what I thought. I can't tell if it hurts for him though I have watched very closely when he goes I have not seen any sign it hurt or he would have gone right then and there but then again he plays rough with a 165lb dane who is still grwoing and does not realize his size yet he still trys to curl up in my lap like when he was little and I have never heard him cry or yelp or anything.
Well thanks though I will take him tonight.

It could be something else, too, but UTI is a place to start.

And dogs are not easy to read about pain. When they yelp it is easy, but many dogs will only pant, or barely blink when they are in pain. So it's hard to tell.

When April does that she has a bladder infection, you should go to vet right away.

Annie had this problem too a few weeks ago.  I originally thought that she had a UTI, but when we took her to the vet that was not the problem.  Her anal glands were full and the vet said that this can put pressure on the bladder which may cause urinary incontinence.

I thought this just could be another possibility to look into, but it probably is a UTI.

Yeah I thought about the anal gland too Spike had to have his expressed a few months ago mno problem with urinating but I could smell it.
I Could not get an appointment to see the vet last night I am going to see if they can squeeze us in tonight. I love this vet she is the best one I have ever had but you need an appointment to get in unless there is an opening and they can squeeze you in. I guess that just says how good she is.
