Dog Sitting?

Does anyone out there dog/cat sit? I just posted an ad on craigslist.com about animal sitting while people go away just to see if I get any responses. I am very serious about starting this business, small for now, but eventually I want to open up an animal resort. Does anyone do this or have any tips I should know about?

One thing you might consider is getting some good references. I know when I look for a sitter I would want one who has some experience with dogs like mine. The local sitter here has a whole lot of experence and has somethig that says" references avelable upon request" written on her flyers. Now if you do sit, write out an agreement with the owner, stuff like how much they are willing to pay in vet bills if nessacery and importants things like that. Maybe even get a deposite just in case something does happen. Protect yourself in the contract so that they can't blame you for anything that happens to their pet during their stay with you. I know you may think now that noting like that could happen but some people will blame you without even given a reason.
