Dog Island??

Um, I definitely think Dog Island is strange ... Roxie sure won't end up in such a place.

You have got to be kidding me.What happens when dog island becomes overrun with inbred mutts??

I didn't see anything about the dogs being spayed or neutered, but I doubt they'd care.  If they think it's great for dogs to kill each other and supposedly "LOVE" hurricanes, I do not think they give a flip about a dog's reproductive state.  What a crock.

I have to wonder what the humane society thinks of this?? They have basically been abandoned and are allowed to kill eachother! Its no different than if you just fenced off a large section of land and let a bunch of dogs go loose.If it was on your property im sure someone would have something to say about it!

They claim to be for "free dogs in their natural environment", but the ones in charge manipulate the dogs' "natural environment".  Like, they put rabbits on the island; carrots are planted for the rabbits, which the dogs are supposed to eat, and they have separate "islands" for the toy breeds.  It's nothing more than a hideous experiment ... That crate is very scary looking and thoes dogs meeting each other look more like they are fighting, and then the ones chasing jellyfish, why on earth would you want  a dog to chase a jelly fish!

Guys, it's a hoax. It was meant to be a response to people eating dogs, or something like that, years ago....

Yep I was just going to say this is a HUGE joke, I read about this years ago and its all a hoax. No animal rights activist would allow this to happen.

I am so glad that this is a joke... I don't think it is a very good joke though.  Some stupid person is going to read that and believe it and try to ship their dog off to a desolate island somewhere![]

I'm sure glad this turned out to not be true after all! I wondered about it--what kind of crazy people would do something like that anyway? I wonder why they would do all that work making it up if it wasn't true, though [:-] Anyway, thanks a lot! Makes me feel better []

My first thought was "This sounds like something PETA would think up." They are all about "freeing dogs" from people.

Snopes.com is a great resource for stuff like this. It said on the snopes site that the reason they made it up was to protest people in China eating dogs. I dont truly see the connection.
