the store where we buy our dog/cat food, and many of the other pet related products we buy, has started ticking me off. they used to be really helpful and friendly, but recently the one employee that seems to be there everytime we go in is too busy talking on the phone to be helpful. on top of this, there food selection is getting progressively worse.
the store is a small chain in upstate sc. the main food they carry is blackwood (which we use for the dogs) and they always have a plentiful and complete selection of the blackwood line. they stock a complete line of wellness and many of the brands that can be found at petsmart or most any other pet store (iams, purina, nutro, etc.). we had our cats on chicken soup. the last time we were in there all they had was the weight loss formula and at that there was only a couple of bags of it. they had one or two bags of felidae which we got. i had previously asked them if they stocked felidae, as they are listed on canidae's web site as being a supplier, and the clerk didnt even know what it was. we have considered switching the dogs to canidae, but at most they only ever have one or two bags in stock and many times they have none.they used to carry innova but i dont think they have had any of that the last few times we have been in.
i mainly think it is just the store close to us because we have been to the one across town and they seem to have a better selection in stock and friendly helpful staff. we would just go to it, but it is way out of the way for me and my wife. i guess the biggest thing is it pisses me off that we are willing to pay slightly more to support a more local store, but i am not willing to do that if the store is crap.
am i being too picky to think that a store should carry what they say they carry and be, at the very least, friendly when i come in?
