Can somebody help me to find out my dog's age?

    Hi,

Somebody gave me a border Collie.

She is so cute and nice.  But I do not know her age.

Could somebody help me to find out her age in the pics?

She is white and black, has some white beard, very small teeth.  Active most of the time.

If somebody can help, I would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    Eve

Uuummm... I don't wanna burst your bubble, and I could be wrong about this, but I don't think that's a border collie.

i guess it would be a little easier to tell if the pictures weren't so maginified, it's really hard to tell.

I don't know how big the dog is but the facial features are telling me Chihaua (however you spell that)

That was my first thought as well... sure doesn't look like a border collie to me

If I'm seeing this right she is very tiney so my guess would be a pappillion (sp?)/ chi. X, her colors kinda fit a BC but her siz says something else.

As for her age would you be able to lift her lip and take a pic. How much build-up is on the teeth, how much do you see broken off. Small dogs age slower then larger dogs making it a little more difficult to determin the age. If I had to give it a wild guess based on the pics I would say she is still young not more than 5 years old.

maybe a little papillion in there, but i'm still saying a dominant chi.

i was guessing 3 years, but like i said, it would help with some better pics!

from the pics, it definately looks like a papillon. As for the age, I have no clue how to tell that.

Yup can't be a collie. looks like a small breed.

    Thank you so much everyone.

I will definitely take more smaller pics of her and post here.

Looks like my little girl cookie who recently passed over.

Cookie was a border collie mix.  Only weighed 15lb. (well that was until my parents started feeding her!)

Check out the teeth that is your best indicator of age.  Never the less, very cute have fun!

Here are more pics of Nifty.

She is 28.5" long, from the nose to the end of the tail.

17" height from ground to the top of her head, standing.

13" high from ground to the top of her back, standing.

I maybe wrong about her breed as border collie, actually this is the first dog I ever had.

So, if someone can help me find out her age, I would be greatly appreciated.

Based on your most recent pictures she really looks like a Papplion.  How do the teeth look?  Puppy (small sharp teeth)  Adult teeth really white or Adult teeth slightly yellow?

I would check the teeth first.
    • Gold Top Dog
Her teeth is really small, almost unnoticable.  Most people think she doesn't have any teeth.

And her teeth is sharp, very sharp.

So how old do you think she is?
    • Gold Top Dog
Definitely not a Border Collie. I don't think Papillon either, he doesn't look as fine-boned and the coat seems wrong... I'd guess Chihuahua or Chi mix.

As for his age, a vet could give you a better idea than we could. I think it's probably a good idea to do a vet check-up anyway since you just got him - just to make sure he's in good health.
    • Gold Top Dog
Well, I think my question would  be what's her breed and how old she is?

Too bad, we don't have vet here.  I am right now overseas.
