Flea and tick collars?

Just a question, what do you guys think about flea and tick collars? i always use frontline on my dogs and have never had problem but is one better than the other?

I think they're useless. They only get rid of fleas around the dog's neck area, if they're even effective enough to do that. >X.x;<

Years ago, I used to get the herbal flea collars. They did a fairly decent job and they smell really nice (eucalyptus) - and they look kind of sporty. They used to come in a red and a blue bandanna print.

Really? how could they even sell those, my lab/sher pei pretty much lives in the water!

I just put a few drops of Rose Geranium Oil on Slick's nylon collar. Oh and FWIW - most traditional flea and tick products (collars included) are toxic. The human stuff as well! DEET is a perfect example..
