We got Shadow's vacc's updated this morning. It took a while. I was determined not to have to struggle with him. So, I brought along treats. He was afraid of walking into the clinic. So, me and the vet tried outside. It took a while to find a spot he was calm enough to sit down at. I handed treats to the vet to give to him. Finally, he would take treats from the vet and sniff him a little curiously. We did have to muzzle him and that took a while. Shadow's too smart. Anyway, with the muzzle (a soft cloth tied around the muzzle and crossed under and then back behind the ears, I was hold his leash buckle and petting his chest. The vet, keeping constant contact, like with a horse, was finally able to get around behind him. I kept Shadow's head pointing to the front, with hardly any pressure. The shots don't hurt, his just his fear of the unknown that gives him the willies. But he was much calmer than vet visits in the past and my vet was willing to take the time to get him to relax and find a place he could relax. He said he's had to give shots in the car for some who's dogs can only relax there.
Anyway, patience won out and he was such a good boy. He was a little timid of two dobies that were there to get their shots but he was as well behaved as he could be. And I checked his weight. 62 pounds.

Adeno2
Parvo
Corono
Bordetella
Total cost, $27. And I accomplished it without having to scruff or wrestle him. Once he was relaxed, he would sit on command.
So, of course, I had to get him a new toy. So, we went to Petco and I got him some more treats and another rope frisbee, which he will shred in no time, once he starts playing with it. But that's okay, it's his to shred. He was a bit skiddish in Petco but with my work schedule, we haven't been able to visit as often. So, we won one scenario, an important one, and call it a draw on another one. Now, he's doing what he does best, sleeping in the ac.
