My dog is spoiled

I just bought a pickup truck. Ive had it a few weeks and have taken Shakespeare for a ride in the cab a few time. One night I, just to try it out, put him in the bed. He didnt like that AT ALL! Well today I got a cap for the truck, thinking that if my family and I ever take the dogs camping, they could ride in the bed, safely. Tonight I asked Shakespeare if he wanted to go for a ride. As always he was ready and willing. So I let him out, opened up the bed and cap and tried getting him to go in. He didnt want anything to do with that at all. Once I closed the cap and opened the drivers door, he jumped right in.

I guess the 2 legged kids will ride in the bed [

Mick's preference was the cab of the truck, too. When he absolutely had to ride in the back, I put his wire crate back there (bungeed down in 6 places). He wasn't crazy about that at first, either, until I slid the crate all the way up so it was against the cab. That way, I could open the slider windows in the cap & cab, and reach through and tickle him some. After a couple of trips like that, it didn't bother Mick to ride back there.

When I was a child and would go home for spring break (I went to boarding school) we would go to the beach house, we would first stop by the hacienda to get the horses, and that was when the fun began, my dad would let my cousins and I ride in the back of the truck, it had a camper, but he would slide down the glass so it was open and oh man that 1 hr ride from the hacienda to the beach was the best. My truck has a camper top on it. Shadow doesn't care. If the wife and I are both going, he rides in back, safe and secure, with side windows that open for ventilation. It's a geltop that cost about $980. If it's just him and me, then he rides up front with me. Especially on hot days like today. AC all the way. When it's hot like this and I'm just running a short errand, I'll leave him in the house with the ac. He can survive the heat but I would rather put up with a knocked over whatever to heat exhaustion. If he's already had a walk, then there's no problem as he will be sleeping.
