Buddy went to the vet again today

We found out  he has giardia again.  Jeez!  This is the second time for ghardia, but the third parasite in the seven weeks I have had him.  Ugh, I am so sick of this.  Unfortunately, I think this is something that I will have to deal with often since we live in an apartment complex with others that don't pick up their dogs' feces and geese feces, that I guess Buddy feels is a delicacy.  Blech!  Also, he was diagnosed with a canine impetigo, a staph infection.  It is all over his stomach area.  So, now we have a cream to put on daily.  I did find out that it is not a cross-contamination with humans.  Thank goodness!  I had impetigo in 4th grade and that is not something I want to go through again.

    Now for my questions:
    1.  Is the canine impetigo contagious to other dogs?  I forgot to ask that at the vet.

    2.  Buddy just threw up right now after sleeping for a hour or so.  It looks like brought up most of his dinner and some of the hot dogs I gave him with his medicine.  He had his medicine at 6pm.  Do you think any of that got through his system by 10:30pm, when he threw up?

    3. What should I do tomorrow morning?  Give him his giardia medicine, which I was planning on doing in the evenings with his dinner?  Give him some of his breakfast or none at all?

    4.  Does giardia also cause vomiting?

I feel so bad for the little guy.  He has never thrown up before and he looks so confused.  He is also tired.  :(

He is really cute; sorry he has giardia again. It can cause vomitting although that is not as common as the diarrhea. Do you know if the medicine he's taking is supposed to be given with food or on an empty stomach? Perhaps it upset his stomach and caused him to vomit. I do think that at least some of the medicine got into his system. I don't know what to tell you about feeding him in the morning and giving him his medicine at that time; you'll probably have to call your vet and ask them. I'll be sending healing thoughts to Buddy; get well soon little guy.

Sometimes it can be caused by stress, Brando had it for 6mos. when we first got him the only thing that helped was flagyl, what meds did you get, if you give 1/4 of a pepcid w/the pill that may help, but ask the vet first, Brando didn't throw up w/ it but they can. Poor baby he must be miserable between the impetigo and the ghardia. It will pass.
I would only give him boiled chicken and rice for now and 3 small meals instead of one big one.
