Farting dog...

Ugh...dog farts! Grey is always super loud. When he starts squeaking, his ears perk up, and he actually looks back at his butt. Sometimes, he turns his head to the side innocently, as if he's saying "Who farted?"

I really don't know what to say because I am going through the same sort of thing. Of course my dogs are complete oppisites in every sort of way. Lawson being so long will always have a gas problem since his digestive track is so long . The vet had me give him a special canned dog food that contained whole rice grains that I give him twice a week. When he has gas though, it doesn't smell. It's just really loud, and he only does it when he stands on his back leggs stretching out his body like when he's about to jump up on a chair. Titus on the other hand has the silent but deadly gas. He is only 11 weeks and he can clear a room. I have him on Nutro Ultra Puppy, but I'm going to have to ask the vet what else I should do next week when I take him. I understand that Bully's are very gassy but WOW talk about a stink bomb...lol.[sm=blush.gif] [sm=lol.gif]

April doesn't fart hardly at all, when she does, they are chicken farts, ugh!

Danes are always listed in "breed descriptions" as big-time farters. Don't feed them grain (most kibbles and commerical dog treats have tons of grain), don't feed them much fruits/veg, don't feed them soy, and well, they don't fart. Seems to apply to most dogs.

Ella only farted when we were giving her cephlexin and when she was eating too much at once. She could clear a room in no time but she had those real quiet farts. It would be completely silent and then I'd hear this clicky air sound come out of her. Then the smell would come.

 I have to agree with you bls4pets on the husky stinks talk about bad.  No more will I ever let my huskies eat left over Nutro at my moms house the car ride home could kill a horse.  The smell stays in the car for days.

My dog was on the SAME food, and it did nothing for her. We almost had to repaint the house because of her gas, no joke. What did help was switching her to an allergen-free diet (ie salmon and potato). It's expensive, but just about the same as the low residue food. Keeping your dog away from corn, wheat, milk, and other allergens might help with the gas. I know it helped with Caseys!

Once at a family gathering, someone made an elephant noise with their mouth. Maggie had been sleeping and was startled by it, jumped up bug-eyed and immediately started to sniff her bottom. Did *I* do that?! Put her tail between her legs, forgetting that her bottom follows along, and hid under the bed. Basically the same as daisyprincess's dog!! lol []

MoJo doesn't fart much. But he sure does belch!
