He stands at the door, champs, steps a few steps, and does that Husky wiggle.

The husky wiggle lmao. OMG i wondered what Mya was doing, its like the whole body shake. Makes me crack up everytime. Her whole body wags not just her tail. lol.. With my 2, i just say walkies and thats it, all hell breaks loose. Sam runs to his lead thats hanging up and goes crazy. Mya has just figured the word out and barks back at me.. just priceless!!

Kobi is really weird!!! He loves to go for walks, but when I go to the door and get my shoes on he stands about 5 feet away and watches. I grad the leash and say "let's go". He immediately turns, grabs a shoe or toy and runs into another room. If I wait he will slowly come back to the door but mostly I have to go and get him.
I said he was weird! I guess it's the quirky Aussie thing!

he has loved his walk since we adopted him when he was about 3.5-4 months old (he's about a year now).  We used to call it the lipanzaner prance as he was out with his humans - several neighbors commented to it was too cute
We walk him every morning so he knows that when I go in the bedroom after my coffee that when I come out its walk time so he waits in the pray/play stance outside the bedroom and than literally walks on air until we are outside.  he dances and shuffles and does everything at hyperspeed.  I let him in the garage where he waits for his leash to go on and we are off............
my husband takes him immediately upon waking so Bugsy knows that when dad gets up its off we go
In the winter & spring he knew it as soon as we went into the jacket closet and now if we have nylon shorts on its walk time.
It will make you smile no matter what you feel like.  And you can't help but enjoy the walk when you've got the happiest dog dancing alongside you licking your hand from time to time which feels like thanks.

Definitely one of the joys of dog ownership

If Grey thinks that I'm even going to come within an inch of a leash, he goes bonkers. I make Brown and Grey sit before I put on the leashes, before I open the door, etc., but Grey can't contain himself. He tries hard to keep his butt on the ground, but he's just far too excited to stay still. I also have to listen to his dinosaur noises and his arooo-rooo howls. Meanwhile, Brown just sits there waiting for Grey to calm down long enough for me to open the door.

He jumps once, when I pull out the leash and then concentrates really hard on settling down and sitting.  It takes him a few seconds, but he sits.  It's kind-of funny, like, "Awesome, I'm going some where!  Oh, this is just too cool. Oh, yah, I have to sit first, but I'm just, just too excited...sitting, now."

I used to get really frustrated at him for jumping all over me when I would hold the leash.  I would put the leash back in the closet and wait for him to settle down before I got it out again.  He's learned, but he still has to get that one jump out.  Just one jump, straight up in the air, not on Mom, cause he's just too excited.

It's cute and not bruising me, so I let him get away with it.[;)]

Now, if he thinks he's going somewhere and then we don't actually take him.  He does all sorts of nasty things to the house.  Only if it's both of us leaving.  If I leave on my own, he's okay.  Or if my husband leaves on his own, it's okay.  But if we both leave together, he gets really offended  Like, "Fine.  You didn't take me, I'm going to poop on the floor and pull the cat cans out of the garbage."

We usually take him, if we can.  But, like today, we were only going to get ice cream.

They do it when they are happy and ready to shake the snow off.

Sunny loves to go out.  He knows if I am taking him if I put down the cat food dishes....  and/or fill my pockets with plastic bags.  He will get his leash put on when he is sitting down.  Then off we go.  Since we live in an apartment building we need to get out three doors before we are actually outside.

Keiichi looses his little pom mind when he sees me pick up my purse or put on my shoes..then he runs to the door and starts spinng and jumping and running laps around the house. I think he has figured out the purse means dog park and just shoes is the front yard.
Either way he is the most excited little guy when it comes to going bye-bye.

Jessie, my husky is the timepiece around the house. She knows when it's time for a walk, she knows when it's bedtime. Comes and stares me down, then gives me the dimples and her haaaahhh hahhhh breathy sounds she makes at me.  When I go for the leash she does this happy happy joy joy dance by shifting from side to side on her front legs.

D'annikan,  my "little" one, prances and dances on his 3 legs and wiggles so much his butt almost hits his face. He walks on a harness, so we have to gear up. He hops in "his" chair, and helps me put the harnie on. Sticks his head through the collar part, then holds his head up and back like some little prince, while the girth belt goes around. He sits quietly the whole time.

The word "Walk" doesn't mean anything to these dogs, but they know "Do you wanna go outside?" 'Outside' or just 'Out' are the cue words [:)] Cassidy absolutely cannot stand it if someone goes outside without her, she has to be there. So whenever she hears the door, or the closet next to the door, she runs over to the door and acts all happy. Getting shoes or a jacket on are signals too. Recently I put up a leash rack next to the door to hang their collars and leashes on, and when I take one off of it, she knows they can go out. When I kept leashes and dog stuff in a certian box by the floor, she knew when I would start rummaging in that. It's kind of funny, though, since Cassidy can go out whenever she wants, and we have a screen door, she'll race to the door and let herself out if someone has just gone out. There have been a few times when she runs to the door but it shuts just in front of her nose, right before she gets there, and BANG! She smashes right into it! [8D] lol Poor puppy [;)] We used to have an older screen door that wouldn't latch by itself, it would close, but not latch, so she could let herself out whenever she felt like it. But now we're having to watch the doors a lot, because Mirelle has started to run out after someone if they leave and don't latch it. Which we're not really used to doing, so it's kinda frustrating. [>:] Anyway......I think that's all.....I'm getting a little off topic here. Who really cares about our screen doors?!?! [8|] lol
