No way Peter has a Shnauzer? Ha ha OMG.
    A Mini Schanuzer scored a 78.6%
    A American PitBull terrier scored a 83.5

    Peter, go to [linkhttp://www.atts.org]www.atts.org[/link]
this is a organization supported by most kennel clubs including the AKC and UKC, basically the results mean that your dog has a more aggressive temperment then a pit bull. A total honest question for you........Why would any of us side with you whom has had littel to no experience with pit bulls over proffessionals, behaviorists, and pit bull owners> Why would we side with you over generations of history and research? If the whoel world is telling you your wrong dontcha think that means something?

I love pits, but I don't think pet stores are the place to buy any dog of any breed.

I just wanted to say I know two dogs that have bitten and had to be pulled off of their victims, one was a cocker spaniel- literally tore the calf muscle off of an 8 year old- she nearly bled to death, and had to have multiple reconstructive surgeries, it was unprovoked my cousin was walking home and the dog broke off it's tie-out, and the other was a westie who bit into the knee and then thigh of a friend's neighbor, it required 56 stitches.... if these dogs had been larger it or the kids smaller it could have easily been face level

As I was reading this thread (took me almost an hours after I re-read almost everything here)  I realized there is no point to prove about this breed.  We all love our dogs and will fight to the end of the earth to stand up for them.  I know I would for mine.  I've cared for so many APBT that they really are no different then any other breed.  All dogs have the same parts on the inside (unless altered :) ) they all speak the same language-bark, and they all want to be a human companion.  So why fight over what breed was meant to do this and that.  Trying to make since of it all and getting lost in the reasoning and thoughts tossed out was all to overwhelming.

The real issue here is educating the buyer on how to care for a dog.  A person does not go out and buy a tiger without knowing what they are getting themselves into, for one thing that#%92s illegal.  A team of experts get a grant to care for the tiger and work together to train, feed and care for the animal.  Dogs are no different, any breed, the owner needs to know what is the proper way to handle a dog and how to feed it and give it what it needs, prepare for it financialy.  I don't know everything about my dog and that is why I talk to other dog owners to find my answers so I can give my dog what she needs.  There really should be stricter rules on owning a dog then what is already in place.  Better screening on the pet shops part and of corse better breeding.

I agree Amanda... but I do feel the need to defend that breed when people call them dangerous weapons and claim that they are all the same... likely to bite and turn on you.  Its a shame.  I cant ignore that... if we did there would be no one countering the stupidity the media is creating about them.

I don't own Pit Bulls but as a dog owner, I will defend them because I know the problems they face are human caused. I do not agree with the legislation against them because if they go after Pit Bulls what's going to stop these morons from coming after my or your chosen breeds? Whenever people speak about Pit Bull attacks, I always tell them to dwelve deeper into the story than to take it at face value. Often times, the attack weren't out of the blue... there were many signs that led up to it such as intact dogs, being chained and neglected, being abused etc. Any dog, regardless of breed, kept in those conditions is bound to flip its lid one day.
