The new guy with questions

Oh my goodness, he is just too cute for words!! Congratulations on the new addition! He's certainly a lucky little guy to have found such good dog parents. So glad you've researched your food options. I've heard nothing but good things about Innova. Glad he's feeling better...keep taking those pics! We eat them up around here! [:D]

Thank you all for the kind comments.  I got home from work about an hour ago and he is doing great.  He is running around and playing and just being his old self.  He won't eat straight innova yet but if we put a little but of prescription diet (what they fed him at the clinic) into it, he gobbles it down.

He is getting much better about going potty outside and his accidents are becoming extremely rare.  He has almost quit his biting completely and the trick seems to be to yelp when he bites us and then if he continues to, we yelp and leave the room for a few minutes.  It seems to be working like a champ and we are very pleased.  I'll post up a few more picturs in a minute so you can see him today!!
    Thanks again

Welcome to you and Tito. He really is an "awww" puppy. I think you did the right thing by bringing him to vet since puppies can dehydrate so easily when they have both diarrhea and throw up. I am glad to read he is doing better.  I have never fed Innova but it looks really good. I hope the food switching goes well.

I have noticed that you have a wicker basket in one of your pictures, probably his bed. Personnally I do not feel comfortable with wicker for dog beds, even though they look so good and cute. It is extremely chewable (never underestimate the power of puppy teeth [;)]) and when they manage to go through it, it makes long splinters that can cause problems.

Again, welcome and congratulation on your adoption of Tito.

    Tito is absolutely adorable...
    Glad he's feeling better...
We fed Talus Innova Puppy formula...just be careful how much you feed because
the poops can be runny...you don't have to feed as much as regular dry food...

Talus is on homecooked food now...

Give that little sweetie a squish from me....

Oh man!  I sure love these pics!   I dont want to actually raise a puppy myself (lol) but I love looking at other peoples pups.  His head hanging out of the bed is adorable!

STOP STOP, I can't that much cuteness in the morning.

Welcome Kurt, Tito & wife. I'm dying from your cutie pie.  I lovelovelove the shot of Tito crashed out in his bed.  It should be illegal for that much cuteness to be in one puppy.  Give that fat little belly some rubs from me.

I hate to say it but he is sick again.  We just can't figure it out.  He is on antibiotics and some sort of salve looking stuff that is supposed to coat his stomach.  He will drink a little water now and then but is also throwing some of it back up.  he won't eat anything at all.  we have tried his old science diet food, the new innova dry we have, the prescription diet food the vet was feeding him, and he just won't even lick it.  He has become sooo weak we just don't know what to do.  If he doesn't improve by the morning we will bring him back to the vet and try to get some answers.  Its killing us both and we are going to stay up throughout the night to comfort him and try to get him to eat.  I am off to the nutrition section to see if i can find anything there but PLEASE if you know of anything we can do, please post.

Poor little guy.  I do hope he gets to feeling better.  My dad's puppy was the same way.  She wouldn't eat/drink and she kept getting sick from both ends, to put it nicely.  Dad took her to an emergency vet and poor co-co was eat up with worms.  She had every type of worm there was in her.  I'm not sure what the vet gave her but after a few days, she was perfectly healthy again and hasn't had a problem since.  Keep us updated

Well about 5 minutes after i posted last, he ;passed a significant amount of horrible pink and red diarrhea with a worm in one section. The odor was almost unbearable. We immediately paged the vet and rushed him to the clinic.  The vet is going to give him some dextrose to raise his blood sugar as well as some sort of re-hydration procedure.    I don't know if either of us will sleep tonight but we are hoping and praying for the best.  Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.  I will be sure to post as soon as we hear from the vet tommorow.
