How does your dog let you know they're hungry?

Boomer will sit beside his bowl and bark.  If that doesn't get him his food he'll proceed to howling which is pretty funny to hear.

What does your dog do?  I'm sure there's some good ones out there.

They don't do anything to get food.  They get fed twice a day at somewhat regularly scheduled times.  I guess on weekends, if we don't realize the time and it gets past feeding time, Shadow will follow you around.... but otherwise nothing.

    Bailey doesn't really do anything...
He waits till whatever time I feed him without a problem. It's always after we do some exercise, so usualy he gets fed after we get back from weight pull practice, or from running to the park. So he eats anytime from 5-8pm.

only thing i've noticed is that Kira will lick her empty bowl whenever i am near it... and then look at me with her sad eyes(perpetual sad eyes)...

Strauss doesn't let me know he's hungry, but he does let me know when the water dish is empty xD  He noses it around the house until I fill it

they don't, because they don't get to choose when and what they eat.

My cocker always will stare at her bowl and bark, growl, and put her little bottom up in the air and wag her tail. it's really cute to watch! my doxie gets fed twice a day, she literally inhales her food when she eats it (she's overweight, weighing 13lbs instead of 9! whoops) but, simba, my sher pei/lab, eats when she pleases! i just have a little of everything!

Mine are fed on  a flexible schedule...between x and x thirty or so, twice a day.

Mine don't do anything either. But if I've accidentally let their water run out, Bogey will nose my arm to get attention.  I always know when it's "fill my water bowl" attention, too, because somehow it's different than when he just wants me to pet him (or whatever).

Edit:  Forgot to say that mine are on a regular feeding schedule, too - 6ish & 6ish.

April has a spot in the living room that she goes to and lays down and just stares at me, she either wants dinner, or a bone.

That's what we do with Sally.  She really doesn't let us know at all.  The CATS on the other hand.....[8|]

Harley is free fed.  If I happen to not refill his bowl he will walk over to the pantry and jump on his hind legs.  If he wants a bone he walks over to the counter where I keep them and does the same thing and for water he does it in front of the sink.

Max doesn't do anything, either. [:)] I usually put food in his bowl once I'm out of the shower & dressed.  One morning I came to the computer first and was reading something in the nutrition thread when I realized OMG, I forgot to feed Max. It was about 11:00 a.m. and Max was just snoozing on the rug.  Apparently he's just very confident that something will show up in his dish sometime during the day.

Sierra's bowl is stainless steel, and it's on the hardwood floor, so when she's hungry she walks over to it and tips it around with her nose (pic below) It makes such a loud racket that I can hear it from anywhere in the house.
And thats when I feed her [:)]

I've got no issues with this, since she's the only dog in the house, I'm the only one that feeds her, and she doesn't overeat. I can still find out if she's eating more or less than usual. It works for both of us [:)]

Beau and Sasha are fed after we eat dinner. They know that they have to wait patiently until we're done. And once I get up, it's time for dinner. They don't eat their food during the day. I have tried several times, but it's just a waste.

And yes, the cat is terrible. Of course it's my fault for giving in, but he HAS to be fed or he will wilt away. Or so he thinks. Every morning, and every night. I swear I step on him 5 times a day while he's chasing me through the house.
