Hello everyone! I just joined a couple of hours ago to help adress my burr crisis as some of you already know. I wasn't planning on staying here but since the community seems friendly and active I think I will stick around. So about me and my dog. I've grown up with dogs my entire life and I hold them in the highest regard. I've only lived with giant breeds (with the exception of my dads current dog, he is only a large breed) and so it seemed natural to get a giant breed. Before I narrowed down a certain breed though, I researched for 6 months on how I would need to go about caring for my newest edition to my life. I had my eyes on some pretty exotic breeds and hard to aquire dogs in canada, expensive taste I guess lol[

]. So I finnally narrowed it down to a female Cane corso, Newfoundlander, Napoleon mastino or a spanish mastiff. I was ready to buy, searching kennels and papers to find my future companion. Finnaly, I found a breeder selling newfoundland X

ups in the paper. I

honed the man and he agreed he would stop by with the dogs on thanksgiving(canadian date) morning since he was coming through town anyway. When he arrived in his truck with a bed full of puppies I was thrilled, but lucky though. There was only one female and That is all I could bring into my house due to the fact that my dog and my fathers dog would surely fight. I noticed something strange about the puppies though. They were not as furry as I remeberd newfoundlands to be and their jaws were very filled, making them look sort of like a big black pit bull. I asked about the strange traits so the breeder told me that the dog was advertised as X meaning a cross breed. He had not specified what other breed the dog contained though. He then told me that the other breed was a Cane Corso. I was stunned! 2 of my favourite dogs bred into one just happend to fall right into my lap (not actually fell into my lap lol I would be crushed). I handed the man his 300 dollers and took her inside, where after getting hello'd from my fathers dog she hid in my coat. I named her Clare after my childhood friends Cleo a Newfoundland /king shepard and bear a White alastation/lab (he turned out huge for a dog containing his breeds). I'm so happy with my choice. She is what I look forward to after school and after work. Her and my fathers dog play fight and run around alot but I don't let them play around to much due to her rapidly increasing size (shes over twice the size of my fathers dog). Well thats all I have about her now about me.... lol, not much to say, still in highschool, live in Canada thats about it. Well all I can say is that I am glad I found this forum and I hope to get to know you and your dogs better as I advance in the forums. Bu bi for now.
