    Cat Allergies

About a month and a half ago I rescued a cat from the vet. She was about to be p.t.s my dad is allergic to cats and so I bought him some allergy nose drops and tablets. They work great but he is now refusing to take them. I know it something to do with the cat hair that makes people allergic so does anyone know of anything I could spray on the cat or give the cat so its not making my dad allergic? A weired question i know but there is no way I am going to get rid of the cat and I cant deal with all the arguing.
    Thanks for any help

This probably won't be of much help, but I eventually outgrew my cat allergies after being exposed to cats for some time. I took allergy shots from ages 3-17 (with a two year break somewhere in there), and as I got older, I developed a cat allergy. Later, I took care of this little boy whose family had cats, and after being exposed to them all the time, I guess I finally got desensitized, although I'm sure the shots helped that process too.

Have you tired bath wipes on the cat? You can find them near the grooming stuff in pet stores, probably on dog.com (although I haven't looked), and even Walmart. They're like baby wipes, essentially. Maybe that would help somehow.

Cat allergies are mainly from the saliva that is transferred to the fur when they groom themselves and from dander. There are products on the market that you can apply to your cats fur to neutralize allergens. You can also invest in an air purifier, but the good ones are usually lots of money. [:'(]

Here is a list from About.com of cat allergen reducing products.
