    Is this still good?

Does anyone know how long liquid antibiotics (Cefa drops specifically) can last if it's been refrigerated? I have nearly a full bottle of Cefa drops from last September when Charlie went through his "I'm too stressed to eat" thing and filled up with gas due to an overabundence of the good bacteria in his stomach. I want to keep some on hand for when we move because I know the same thing will happen, but I don't want to give him something expired. Any idea if it's still good?

once an antibiotics has been opend/used it expires quickly. I wouldn't use it as it has probably lost its full potential.

Thanks, Mary. I'll get some new stuff.

Question: if antibiotics loses its effectiveness once its opened, how is the stuff the vet gives out still effective if its already been opened and dispensed to other patients?

I'm thinking way too much today, which is good considering I just woke up (yes, at 2 pm).[:D]

I'm thinking more in terms of the liquid ones that come sealed in individual bottles. Even pills lose their effectiveness after a certain amount of time.

IF they are drops they generally last no longer than 14 days once mixed. The pills last a little longer but only if kept in a light safe bottle and in a cool dry environment.

So aside from antibiotics, is there anything I can do during the move to stop Charlie from bloating with gas? I plan on having both cats drugged during the actual car ride because they'll go nuts otherwise, but there will be at least 2-3 days where they'll have to be crated (I'm putting two large collapsible dog crates together) at my mom's house. It'll be quiet there, and I'll be around most of the time, but I know he won't be comfortable until he's "home."

Hill, how about posting some Bruno pics?[:)]
