    Cat food and recall

    My father's cats are currently eating Fancy Feast canned foods, which do contain the wheat gluten. I realize these foods are not on the official recall list, but... the cats are fairly finicky and have delicate stomachs (for commercial foods) and supplement their diets by catching and eating small animals outside. Should I make a fuss and try to get them on another food? Is there any food that is the "meat in gravy" type that doesn't contain wheat gluten?

    I'm pretty sure all the meat & gravy type foods need the wheat gluten. It's a shame - because cat's really seem to like them. I know mine seem to eat that type way faster than the paste-like Innova EVO I have them on now.

    I wouldn't get terribly worried. Wheat Gluten itself isn't going to kill them, and I'm sure manufacturers are going to be extra careful about their ingredients after this. I know my cat's really enjoyed the Nutro pouches I had gotten for them before I found EVO.

    my cats will only eat Fancy Feast canned....they turn their noses up to other foods. Luckily none of them ever enjoy the chunky/gravy style foods. I'm so glad of that!!!!
    I simply wouldn't offer any pet any gravy/chunky wet foods right now whether or not the foods is on the list. Until they could prove to me it's save ain't no chunky gravy in a can crossed my door step
