    Now how did this happen?

Charlie somehow managed to cut a pretty decent chuck of skin off on his left back leg. I'm not sure how long it's been like that because Brett saw it first, and it's not noticable because it's on the inside where his fur sags between bones. Sounds like an odd place, right? That's why I can't figure out how he did it.

It's not infected, so I cleaned it and put Neosporin on it since I didn't have anything else. Of course, he started licking it, so I figured it would be okay to put vet wrap on it at least for a day. Bad idea. Funny idea, actually, but it didn't work out at all. Charlie flipped out. He refused to put his foot down, spun in circles, flooped on the ground, etc. He looked like a fish flopping on the ground. So naturally, the vet wrap didn't work out, although it did provide a few minutes of amusement. I don't think he was very mad at us because he purred the entire time Brett held up, and he continued to purr during his fit. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ;people who hasn't been mauled by their p-o'd cat. *phew*

you wanna see something funny - and it won't harm the cat
cut the toe end off a tube sock and put in on the cat.
They refuse to move....they will fall over and simply not move.
Okay it's mean but this was mentioned on a siamese cat board I belong to as some siamese cats are simply cold (my little sealpoint always had freezing cold paw pads).
So one night I figured I try it. It was funny - yes and mean. Of course no harm came to her and she stood right there and let me put the tube sock on her. But she immediately flopped over and refused to move.
So I moved onto another of my cats - same reaction.
No I won't do it again cause I felt like a bully...but it was funny.

LOL I'll have to tell this to Brett. Poor Charlie is forced to amuse us.

LOL.....Bet that was something to see. Don't think they make socks big enough to fit Samson though.[8D]

I'd need tube socks that fit Sumo wrestlers for Bandit![:-]

He may have jumped off of something and scraped it on the way down.

Same with Deuce. He was a fat kitten, and now he's a fat one year old. (Well, he's almost one). It's much easier to tell Charlie and Deuce apart now that one has a gut dragging the ground.

I think I figured out how Charlie cut his leg in that area...I'm pretty sure he kicked a razor while trying to "kill" it.  It was knocked over into the bath tub (from its case...it wasn't just sitting out), and  there was cat hair in the tub. Grant it, there's always cat hair in that bathroom because that's where their window perch is, but I'm thinking that's what happened. It sounds like something Charlie would do.

Do you put it on the cat's head or over the body?  I can't picture how you'd get it on the cat with no leg holes.

Mary, take pictures so the rest of us can torture our cats this weekend. lol

A number of years ago at a party the host of the party thought it was funny to put a crown royal sack over his cat's head.  He'd say 'watch this!' and we watched the cat back up full speed reverse, bumping into chair legs and cabinets. He looked like an out of control remote control car.  Everyone was laughing hysterically at the hapless kitty.  I was laughing pretty hard and everyone boo'ed at me when I scooped up the kitty and pulled off the cloth sack.  I did offer to put a pillow case over the owner's head and duct tape it on so we could all be 'entertained' again but at HIS expense.  Don't get me wrong, I laughed pretty hard too it was pretty funny but I also felt bad for the cat enough to step in and uncover his head.  *sigh*          Jules

Oh, I don't want to do it - I am not into torturing my pets at all.  I was just trying to figure out how in the heck you put a tube sock on a cat.  Just over the head?  Because all I could think was that if you put a tube sock on the cat's body (like stuffing a sausage), of course it would fall over because you'd have to shove its legs in it!

Again, I stress that I have no intention of doing it!!!
