    A story on Adonis

I had a cat that went missing for 11 months he was beautiful long haired pure white. He escaped from the house one morning and didnt come back. We posted flyers everywhere visited the local SPCA nothing. We were so worried because he when we neutered him we also declawed him so he had little defence in the big wide world. 11 months later I was swimming in the pool and this cat walks to the edge and starts sun bathing.  When i got out of the pool he ran straight for the house trying to get in. I thought how much he looked like Adonis but he had a collar on and i never had collars on Adonis (he was microchiped and he often got his feet stuck in it) He burst into the house before i could stop him and because i still had my other cat the litter box was still in the same spot down stairs. He took off down there and used the litter box and then went to the spot i use to keep his food dish and sat there and meowed. I was a little stunned. I checked the tag on his collar and it was a rabies tag so i took him to the vet (small town same vet i use to use). The tag wasnt registered to a Domestic white Long hair but to a tabby but it had a address on it from across town. I asked the vet if he could check for a microchip and cross check it to Adonis. Well guess what they were the same. I called the family to ask them some questions about it. Well they have two cats the tabby has a personalized collar so they use the rabies tag on "Snowball" I then asked where they got snowball. Well get this there son was a newspaper deliverer and saw the cat on one of his clients porch. The kitty was so cute and friendly and looked really hungry so he brought it home. I couldnt believe this. I was so angry and told them that my cat was microchiped had accidently escaped when my little sister was leaving and that we HAD posted flyers around town looking for him. This women never stopped amazing me with her comments. She turned around and said. Well yes they did see the flyers but snowball didnt look like a "adonis" so they thought that it was the wrong cat. Needless to say i told her that i would be keeping my cat and next time your boy gets the urge to get a cat go to the spca.
I rescued adonis and his four siblings when they were four weeks old. Someone tried to drown them behind a restaurant in the Lard pail. One of Adonis' siblings died and i decided to keep him because of how much it was a struggle for him to stay alive. I was completely devasted when he was gone. My sister was extremely attached to him she cried for days when he went missing so when i moved out of my moms into my own place I let Adonis stay there with jenna. He is still there and i see him a couple times a week. I cant get over the nerve of some people but i am glad to have some peace of mind to know that he was and is ok

he came home!!! Sounds like he was just waiting for the opportunity to return.

    Wow, amazing story!

I have had two escape artists myself.  I had them both wearing reflective collars (we lived on a busy street) tags that gave their name, phone number, and said INDOOR ONLY, and get everyone microchipped.

I can't believe someone would pick up a "stray" cat and not take it to a vet to get screened for a chip!!!  Duh!!!
