I was using Swheat scoop with much success and like the organic/ safe litters. I was looking into trying World's Best cat litter when I stumbled upon a forum and posts of people who use chicken laying crumbles (which is corn also) rather than WBCL with the same results at a fraction of the cost. I thought if this really works....I can handle $9.50 for 50lbs. Heck yeah.
I went to the feed store and picked up a bag. When I poured it out (3 cats 2 boxes) it looks just like Swheat Scoop and probably WB also (I've never seen that one). It has a distinct odor that although not overpowering, it is a bit unpleasant right out of the bag....not bad though (for the price, definitely tolerable) I just sprinkled in some baking soda... no problem. The boxes are in the basement.
The cats took to it right away. They are used to the similar texture.
It's been a couple days and it "behaves" just like the wheat based litter and I'm so far pleased in it's clumping ability and odor control. It's scoopable and there's no odor.
I'll give it more time, but if this stuff is nothing more that vitamin laced corn litter, I've hit a gold mine. at $9.50 for 50lbs, I will never buy the expensive litters ever again! [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]
