Thanks for asking MK!

I've gotten to ride a few times, thanks! Here's a funny little story about one of my recent rides, an anecdote, if I may.
For those of you who don't know my history with Stryder I bought him almost a year ago and moved him to a location where I could start riding regularly last September. He was really pretty green and so we had to start nearly from the beginning.
So I had a gal start training and riding him for me back around November, she's doing FABULOUS THINGS with him. One of his "things" most, notably, was his lack of being able to pick up his right lead. We did extensive checks to make sure it wasn't physical before working him hard to pick it up. He's fine. K (the gal) has been riding him said he's doing great and when I've been riding recently, he picked up the right (as in direction and not synonym for "correct"
;) lead everytime... and as of Sunday he got the right lead even when I was asking for the left! [sm=uhoh.gif]
I worked with him for a little while and finally got him on his left, but now it took 5 tries to get his left rather than 5 tries to get his right. [sm=smack.gif] How's that for irony? So, anyway, K and I talked today and it sounds like he's learned the que to take the right lead but hasn't yet learned the one for the left, since we'd been working so hard on muscling and evening him to the right. We're gonna work on his que for the left and then the next stop?, picking up the correct lead while going straight! [sm=proud.gif] I'd set a 6 month goal for that at the start of the year, so it looks like we should have reliable leads by the deadline and I'm excited!
He's a good boy, doing really well. I'll be out of town next week and bumped up K riding for me, I should come home to a still fat (lots of grass here right now) but hopefully a little more even of a horse! [sm=biggrin.gif]
Here's a recent photo of my fat-boy being a dork (he was pawing at the ground while I was playing ball with Nikki, he was being a grouch cause I was ignoring him. So... I continued to ignore him while he acted like a brat, although I did indulge in some photos!) These photo's were taken at the same outing, amazing what direct sunlight does to his color (white stuff is corona on a few bite marks.)
