    anglo arabs??

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with anglo arabs? I saw them in a book, and i think they are GORGEOUS!! They seem awesome from everything i've read...Living around here, i'm surrounded by thoroughbreds, rocky mountains, QH, and TWH...i don't have a lot of experience with other breeds, and would probably like to purchase a different breed than i have owned.

I didn't find anglo arabs in my breed book? My riding partner just got a polish arab? Not in my breed book either?? [8|]

I have also heard them be called french anglo arab. I think it has TB and arabian, but not too sure,

Yep - TB/arab cross. If you google them there are some sites with breeders, basic history, and pretty pictures [:)]

I owned an Anglo Arab.  Very nice horse.  Had the arab "dish" just a little less then you would typically see.

What would you like to know?

I guess just anything in general. Are they good to just ride ( i ride western, no show jumping or anything) How about their dispositions? Are they big ( i usually like horses at least 16.2) If you have any pictures, i'd love to see!

I did low childrens jumpers with an anglo arab a while back. I have pictures at home but right now I'm at school. He was just under 15 hands and was a great jumper with the cutest little dish face and quite the attitude! I don't think that many anglos would reach over 16 hands if the average size for an arabian is around 14.2 and the average size for a Thoroughbred is anywhere from 15 to 17+ hands. The few that I've seen have all been around 15 hands.

Well my guy was about 16-16.1 hh. We just rode the trails at home, bareback and neck reining. But he is now doing basic dressage with the woman that still has him.
He was about 1050 lbs.  He was in the begining of his life a pony horse on the race track. And then became mostly a pleasure horse.  May I introduce you to Cherry. The 16 hh Anglo Arab gelding [:)] *pardon the blurriness*

Very pretty! i've been doing some research, and i really like them. I'm gonna have to ride one to see what i think though. We've only owned TWH, QH, and TB

He really is a sweet horse. And despite being from hot breeds he is pretty sane *for the most part...god forbid a bag blow by [:D] But never minded cars or anything

He was quiet enough to have a beginner ride, and gave enough to have fun with for me.
The only thing I found *and it might not be relative to the breed just him* was he really threw his head into his canter. It was nice still...but like an extreme rocking horse.

    I'd get another.
