    Endurance Racing!

    Hello [:D]

I have been riding for 5 years and own  2 wonderful  horses. I ride English, though I have dabbled a bit in Western. I ride mostly in the jumper's ring =).
Lately I have been looking into endurance racing. It seems to me a very exciting, fun sport. Does anybody ride in endurance races, competively or for fun? Is it true that you can go so far as the Olympics in this sport? And, lastly, lol, is it a possibility to have a stable strictly for endurance racing/breeding endurace horses (most likely Arabs, considering what I have been reading)?
Just wanted to hear your thoughts/experiences. Thanks [:)]

Hi Mista, I always thought endurance would be fascinating. My Tonto would have been an awesome endurance horse had he not had his injury. Endurance trail would be more my speed though. (literally) I see you found your way over to the horse forum but I hope you hang out with us here too. [:)]

Thanks danehaven =)...Yes I just realized yesterday that there was a horse forum, and I got some useful replies there.
Endurance does seem exciting doesn't it?? I have a half Arab and I believe he would do well in it...if we can overcome his relentless spooking problems!!
May I ask what injury your baby had? From your picture he looks adorable =).

Mista, Tonto is my red roan Appy. He hit a guide wire on a utility pole a year and a half ago. You can read more about him in the Tonto update thread. I have just finally started really riding him and he got injured again last week when Jet my Palomino kicked him in the shoulder. So he will be recouping for another month.

And as a reminder to everyone not all utility companies mark their pole guide wires. So check your property and tell all your friends to check.
